Locking yourself out - Most properties, once you shut the door you need a key to get
back in, so please make sure you have your keys with you when leaving the property.
If you find you have locked yourself out give Sue a call, who will come and let you
back in. If you have left the keys in the lock inside the property you must advise her of
this, she will contact a locksmith to get you back into the property as keys cannot be
inserted into the lock and turned from the outside.
Charges for us to come to the property to let you in, payable by you.

If a locksmith is needed, you will also have to pay their charge from €80.
If you loose the keys you will be required to pay for a new set of keys and possibly
new lock(s).
Security - Shut shutters and double lock all doors when you leave the property.
Medical problems - If you have sunburn, sickness, diarrhoea, bites go to your local
Pharmacia, they can give you treatment and will refer you to a doctor or hospital if
needed.

If there is a problem with the property, and we are called out you may have to pay a
call-out charge, this is dependent on the problem.

Keep noise after 12pm to a minimum, this is a rule on most urbanisations.
Departure - If during your stay you want to change your departure time please call
Sue at least 2 days before your departure between the hours of 9am and 7pm. Please
do not ring to change time on the day of your departure we are not able to change
your departure time at short notice.
Adhere to property rules, pool rules and pool opening times.
Put all rubbish in the communal green bins on a daily basis, refuse is collected nightly.
When you depart put all your unwanted food and toiletries in the green communal
bins.
Pools always shower before going in the pool. Respect the pool rules.

Patio furniture return patio tables, chairs and sunloungers to where you obtained
them.
BBQ - Clean after use, if gas bbq replace gas bottle when empty.
Ashtrays NO SMOKING INSIDE PROPERTY INCLUDES VAPERS/E-
CIGARETTES. Please dispose of cigarette ends and wash ashtray before leaving
property.
Gas Bottles If you empty, please replace.
Money owed - If you have not been met by us with the keys and you have been asked
by the owner to leave money for us i.e. money for welcome pack, travel cot, beach
towels etc, please leave money on the table or kitchen worktop and we will collect
after you have departed the property.
Visits to the property, if needed, we will get to you as soon as we can, we will let you
know our estimated time of arrival when you telephone us. If you need our help, make
sure you are at the property when we arrive we will not try and find you or phone you.
Do not text us, if you need us, phone us.
Travel Cot/High Chair If you have hired please ensure the company re-collects
items prior to your departure.
Crockery/Cutlery wash and dry all used items and return to cupboards, clean.
Dishwasher If the property you are staying in has a dishwasher, ensure all dishes are
washed and returned to cupboards prior to your departure.
Bedroom light if you are unable to turn light on by the main switch by the door, try
the switch by the bed, sometimes you are unable to switch off at the bed and turn on
at the main switch by the door.
Please do not re-make beds on your final day and leave the property tidy.
Problems If you have a problem with the property during your stay please telephone
us, please don’t text, we don’t accept texts.

Information
The property is checked on arrival and on departure, and cleaned at the end of your stay.
If an accident does occur, please replace any breakages with the same or similar item.
Please ensure you leave the property in the same condition that you found it.
The accommodation where you are holidaying is privately owned and we request that you respect
the property and show consideration for your neighbours. Properties in Spain do not have carpets
therefore the noise of walking travels. Wear flat shoes and keep walking in heeled shoes to a
minimum.
Please be advised that we do not accept responsibility for accidents, loss of property or damage to
the property. In the event of any of the above please check your own personal holiday insurance
document.
Security
For your own comfort and peace of mind, please ensure that when leaving the property all windows
are closed, shutters are left down and all doors and gates are locked. The front door, where possible,
should be double locked.
Keep handbags safe and out of sight when at the beach. Also do not leave handbags on the car
passenger/back seat(s) with the window left open. Take care of handbags at all times.
If keys are lost and need to be replaced a charge of €10 per key (to a max cost of €80) will be
payable. If a locksmith is called, you will be charged for the cost of the call-out and replacement lock.
Take the hire car stickers out of your car windows.
Tap Water
Mineral content may cause upset, bottled water is advisable to drink, available from supermarkets.
Electric and Water
It is not unusual for water or electric to be cut for short periods of time. In the event of a power cut,
check that the switches in the fuse box (generally found behind the front door) are all in the up
position. If you remain without electric or water for more than 5 hours please call Sue.
Swimming Pool
Use with safety in mind. Always shower before entering the pool and adhere to the pool rules. Do
not take glass bottles or glasses anywhere near the swimming pool.
Bins
There are large green/grey bins situated on the main roads, please deposit your rubbish here on a
daily basis. Refuse is collected every night.
Insects
Ants. Where possible keep all food in Tupperware containers or use food bags. If you experience a
problem with ants you can purchase a repellent from most supermarkets.
Mosquitos. It is advisable to use a repellent especially at night, can be purchased from supermarkets.
Telephones
When dialing Spanish phone numbers from an English mobile you will need to dial 0034 in front of
the telephone number.
Stolen Passport and Other Items
Report to nearest Police Station (you will need a translator). If you loose your passport you will need
to visit British Consulate in Alicante, Edificio Espacio, Rambla Mendez Nunex 28-32, 6a planta.

There are Farmacia’s located at most commercial centres and can be identified by an illuminated
green cross sign. Opening hours are normally 10am – 2pm and 4pm - 7pm. Farmacia’s will
recommend medication for minor ailments without the need of a doctor’s prescription.

Supermarkets
Opening hours vary during the winter months and some close on Sundays and Spanish bank
holidays all the year. They do not shut for afternoon siesta. Supermarkets operate a pay system for
trolleys using either a 50 cent or €1 coin, returned when you take the trolley back to the trolley park.
Take bags with you, they now charge for carrier bags.
Carrefour the largest in the area is off the N332, take the exit for the Nations Park - with the
fountain) take the left turning at the roundabout, straight across at the next one, straight across again
and then right at the following one. There is also another just past the Torre Joven Hotel at Punta
Prima. Open Sundays all the year.
Mercadona the largest Spanish supermarket. - Playa Flamenca roundabout. Los Balcones. Between
Campoamor golf course and Villamartin. Pilar de la Horadada. Torrevieja. Aguas Nuevas. Does not
open on a Sunday, even in summer. Closed every fiesta day.
Consum – La Zenia roundabout, on the left hand side just behind the shops. Los Altos, on the left
hand side past the Centro Commercial. Punta Marina Commercial Centre
Gama - La Florida (opposite side of the road to Alfredo’s), opens til midday most Sunday’s.

Sunbathing
The sun in this part of Spain can be very powerful, even when cloudy. Do not be deceived by the
pleasant sea breeze. Be sure to apply the appropriate sun factor cream regularly, including before and
after swimming.

Beaches
Take care when swimming there are strong undercurrents. Do not leave valuables unattended on the
beach. Beach in Spanish is “Playa”, so if you follow signs for Playa you will find a beach.

Driving
TAKE YOUR HIRE CAR STICKER OUT OF YOUR CAR AT YOUR EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY
Do not park against a pavement with a yellow kerb, you will be booked and maybe towed away.
When turning into or out of junctions do not cross a solid white line in the middle of the road.
There are not many road markings, look out for STOP and give way signs.
Drivers who test positive for alcohol could serve a prison sentence of 3-6 months.
Your car must have 2 red triangles and at least 1 florescent jacket.
The AP road (Autopista) is the equivalent to the English motorway, there are intermittent tolls, on
the AP-7 there are tolls at junctions 753 and 763.

Golf Courses – the resort of Torrevieja has six courses; Villamartin, Las Ramblas,
Campoamor, La Finca, La Marquesa and Greenlands.
Club de Golf Villamartin – Green fee €60. Tel 96 676 51 27. Has not developed a worldwide
reputation but certainly doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go out of your way to get a tee time. Lot of
personality and well worth the visit, hazardous course.
Club de Golf Las Ramblas – Green fee €42. Tel 96 677 47 28. located between 2 ravines on
the shore of the Mediterranean and enjoys spectacular views.
Real Club de Golf Campoamor – Green fee €44. Tel 96 532 1366. Opened in 1989, not as
hazardous as Villamartin, it is the most panoramic of the courses in the region. Expansive fairways,
excellent greens and the lakes deceive the player somewhat, making this a long and testing course
with six “dog legs” to keep you on your toes.
Golf La Finca (Algorfa) – Green fee €75. Tel 96 672 90 10. Situated at the foot of Mount
Escotera, in the municipality of Algorfa, right in the heart of the Segura region. If you like good
greens, then La Finca should be right up your street.
Golf & Country Club La Marquesa – Green fee €56. Tel 96 671 42 58. mainly flat and offers
no particular difficulties. It has wide fairways interspersed with canals, lakes and other obstacles with
all players find enjoyable. It is a course that ranks as very comfortable, yet gives players a chance to
use a wide variety of irons.
Greenlands Golf Complex – Green fee €20. Tel 96 597 16 81. Small par 3 course situated
north of Torrevieja on the road to Quesada. It has a first class kid’s academy.
