2 May A teenage girl drowned after a Fletcher 155 speedboat capsized in Tor Bay, Devon.<br />

5 May<br />

The Bahamas registered passenger ship Hamburg grounded in the Sound of Mull<br />

on the west coast of Scotland.<br />

13 May<br />

The racing powerboat Vector 40R capsized and made contact with a navigational<br />

buoy at high speed in Southampton Water resulting in serious injuries to one of<br />

the four crew.<br />

18 May<br />

The twin-rig prawn trawler Kairos capsized and foundered in heavy seas 70nm<br />

west of the Isles of Scilly. The crew abandoned to a liferaft and were rescued.<br />

9 Jul<br />

The scallop dredger JMT capsized and sank with the loss of two lives 3.8nm SW of<br />

Rame Head, Cornwall.<br />

9 Jul<br />

The skipper of the stern trawler Enterprise fell overboard and drowned in rough<br />

weather in the North Sea.<br />

29 Jul<br />

The fishing vessels Silver Dee and Good Intent collided in the Irish Sea. The Silver<br />

Dee flooded and her crew evacuated to the Good Intent before their vessel sank.<br />

3 Aug<br />

A shoreworker sustained fatal injuries at Ilfracombe, Devon after falling between<br />

the passenger ship Oldenburg and the quayside.<br />

17 Aug<br />

A crewmember of the stern trawler Aquarius fell overboard and drowned off<br />

Aberdeen.<br />

18 Aug<br />

A fire in the engine room of the dredger Arco Avon caused fatal burns to the 3 rd<br />

engineer when the vessel was 12 nautical miles off Great Yarmouth.<br />

24 Aug<br />

The scallop dredger St Apollo grounded and subsequently capsized in the Sound<br />

of Mull. The five crew abandoned to a liferaft and were rescued.<br />
