A ROADMAP
OF TARGETS
87
To better coordinate the involvement of partners and
to strengthen links between the private sector and
governments, a meeting on Partners for NTDs was
organized by WHO in 2010.
One of the main achievements of the meeting
was that all partners and countries requested WHO’s
Director-General to prepare a roadmap marking targets
to be achieved against the diseases. The roadmap
involves WHO and all participating stakeholders,
governments, pharmaceutical firms, foundations and
NGOs.
The WHO roadmap on NTDs was presented in
London in January 2012 and represents the basis on
which all partners are committed. The stakeholders
endorsed it at a series of events.
