Researcher Highlights
– Prof. Gavin Walker, University of Limerick,
was appointed Bernal Chair in
Pharmaceutical Powder Engineering as
part of the University of Limerick’s €52
million science and engineering initiative.
– Professor Anita Maguire, University College
Cork, was appointed as a member of the
Management Board of Ser Cymru, the
National Research Network in Health and
Life Sciences.
– SSPC international collaborator,
Professor Michael Zaworotko, University
of South Florida, one of the world’s
top 20 chemists, was appointed by the
University of Limerick as Bernal Chair of
Crystal Engineering. Professor Zaworotko
appointment will further enhance Ireland’s
reputation as a destination of choice for
world-class researchers, industrial
partnerships, collaborations and as a location
for attracting international funding.

researcher, features in the Irish Times for
his SFI Research Image 2013 Competition
