Meeting God in the garden:
Prayer & Painting week: 10- 14 May
The theme chose by Maggie for her last Prayer
& Painting course was ‘Meeting God in the
Garden.’ Those who participated were sad to
learn that this was the last time she would be
leading a Prayer and Painting week. She has
been a prayerful leader and given inspiration
to very many over the years, and she will be
greatly missed. Thankfully she is not leaving
the Centre but has more time now for Prayer
Ministry.
As you can see from the lovely paintings shown
here, the garden theme inspired the twelve
artists to produce wonderful pictures (I wish
we had space to show them all). The teaching,
during the daily worship, was also about gardens
in the Bible and tied in exactly with what some
artists had planned to paint before they came,
once the theme was known.
I have been privileged to work with Maggie
on the ‘Prayer through Painting’ weeks for
nearly two years now, so I was asked to lead
the August one, with Dee’s help. I tried not
to change too much and kept the programme
etc. much as Maggie had run it before. We are
trusting the Lord to show us His plans for the
art/craft work at the Centre in future and who
should be leading it. Please join us in praying
about this.
Georgina, Joan and Martin share their thoughts
and reflections of this special week..
We arrived early on Tuesday morning and
as always were made to feel very welcome.
It was with a measure of sadness that we
realised Maggie, our tutor for so many years,
would be retiring after this week.
