In sports,
winning will always take precedent
over everything. People love
winners. People love getting
associated with winners. Winners
are what people want to become.
At Barry University, there are no
bigger winners than their rowing
program. It’s a sport that requires
an all hands on deck attitude and
a group of people in a large boat.
It also requires the competitors
to have the physical shape that’ll
make one look like an Olympic
athlete.
Can you picture having to go out
to the water and rowing a boat
as fast as you can for more than
1,000 meters? Can you picture
a group of young women doing
it? Can you imagine having
an undefeated season and
winning back-to-back national
championships?
That’s a reality that everyone at
Barry University has been able to
see. Last season Barry did just
that.
Last year Barry had the type of
season that most programs dream
of having. In a conference that
is one of the best in the country,
Barry stood out. Schools like the
Florida Institute of Technology, and
Nova Southeastern helped Barry
prepare for their championship
run. All Barry did was accept the
