23 win over Jacksonville Raines,
Booker T. Washington became
the first Miami-Dade county
school to win four straight state
championships.
Not the Largest,
But the Best
Everyone’s not athletically gifted
and all schools understand that.
For the students that attend
Booker T. Washington only about
40 of them play football which is
3.8 percent of the entire student
body. So for the other 96.1 percent
they have to become even better
scholars if they’d like to succeed
and their alumni base makes sure
that students do just that.
“One thing about Booker T. our
motto is it’s not the largest but
the best. We’re a small school,
especially compared to other
high schools. We’re a very small
school. We barely have 950 kids.
In terms of the adults in the
building and in terms of what we
do on a regular basis, how we try
to encourage these kids to seek
greatness, I think that makes us
the best. It’s a small school and
we have great great possibilities.
We push for the highest possible
goals and we’ve been somewhat
successful with that” said

The unique aspect of Booker
T. Washington is that it’s such
a historical school with rich
tradition that goes back to it’s
