This is a style influenced by the French<br />
Royalty “Baroque” period of the 17th and<br />
18th century. Dark floors, light walls (ornate<br />
cornices), traditionally with pale buttery<br />
yellows and blues as accent colours (but these<br />
days a more contemporary approach would<br />
be any fresh pastels). Window treatments are<br />

Deciding on the right type of carpet is a big deal as<br />
it is often going to cover quite a big expanse in your<br />
home! So you need to consider whether a loop or<br />
a twist pile is best for you. A twist pile gives quite a<br />
luxurious and textured appearance, close to that of<br />
a cut pile but because of its twists, it minimizes the<br />
tracking and shading. My favourite at the moment is<br />
