Building a home gym is simple
Jon DePaolis,
Contributing Editor
The holidays are going to
be over before you know it,
and when that happens, so
will the following.
Mark my words, you will be
sitting on your couch, watching
TV and a commercial
for Bowflex Revolution or
P90X or something else will
air. You, not wanting to feel
shamed while trying to catch
up on an episode of “Biggest
Loser,” will reach for the remote
(groaning while your
body forces some exertion).
I know this feeling, because
I have experienced it.
I’m sure some of you out
there have, as well.
Guess what? It’s time to
invest in a plan that will not
only get you healthier but
also get you fitter.
No, I’m not talking a
membership to a major gym.
I’m thinking you need a
passport to somewhere that
knows what you like and
who you are — a home gym.
But before you go and waste
hundreds on a gym or fitness
structure that ends up going
unused 11 months out of the
year, let’s talk, OK?
The key is knowing what
you’re seeking. If it is to
lose a few pounds in the
midsection, you may want
more of a cardio or aerobic
setup. If you’re looking to
put on muscle in your upper
and lower body, you will
likely need free weights,
workout stations and other
such equipment.
But once you know what
you’re looking to do, finding
some simple gear should
be relatively easy. We talked
with Michael Shaffern, a retired
professional wrestler
and health/fitness expert,
and here are some of his tips.
Free weights
This is the foundation of
any home gym. Free weights
— which come in a variety
of shapes, sizes and pounds
— are used in virtually every
single major fitness DVD.
These also are easy to
find at most major retailers,
including Dick’s Sporting
Goods and Sports Authority.
Shaffern said some dumbbells
are now made to so that
users can adjust the weight
from as little as 10 pounds to
as much as 50 pounds.
“I have a set of those, and
it’s helpful to have a set of
those at the house,” he said.
Chin-up bar
For those looking to
build strength in their arms
and back, a chin-up bar is
a necessity.
While these can be sold
as additions to larger pieces
of equipment, some chin-up
bars are sold separately and
can be hung on a door frame.
“Pullups are one of the
most essential workouts you
can do with your own body
weight,” Shaffern said. “It’s
really an essential exercise
for your back, arms, shoulders.
It kind of touches on
Pictured is Michael Shaffern, former professional wrestler
and fitness hobbyist. Shaffern helped 22nd Century
Media compile a list of must-haves for home gyms. Photo
submitted
everything.”
He said pushups, pullups
and other exercises in which
the person is using his or her
body weight are good for
home fitness.
Resistance bands
Quickly becoming a popular
method of getting fit,
these bands can simulate a
variety of different weights,
depending on the length and
thickness of the strap.
They also are easy to set
up and pack away.
“If you’re not looking to
have dumbbells [lying] around
your living room, you can get
resistance bands,” Shaffern
said. “They are a lot easier to
store, and they do come with
different amounts of resistance
for curls, triceps.”
Nutrition
It’s a word that most people
dread, but the truth is
that without a good diet, no
amount of work will magically
fix your problems.
“Dieting, by far, is the
most important thing, no
matter what you’re trying
to do,” Shaffern said. “If
you are trying to get lean, if
you’re eating like garbage,
it’s not going to happen. You
have to eat a ton of vegetables,
some fruit, a lot of lean
proteins — chicken, fish. If
you’re trying to add more
muscle, which is possible to
do at home, you’re going to
want to take in more protein,
more carbs; not starchy potato
carbs, but brown rice,
quinoa — stuff that fuels
your body and that has the
nutrients and minerals that
will help you grow.”
Plan ahead
Listen, everyone needs
a plan. You cannot expect
to shed weight without understanding
what exercise
or what routine does what.
If you were trying to get
healthy, would you just assume
you knew which foods
were appropriate for a certain
diet?
“The beautiful thing in
this day of the Internet is that
there are a billion things you
can check out and see what
they are comfortable with,”
Shaffern said. “It’s pretty
easy to do some research.
“My recommendation almost
to anyone would be to
check out any program by
Beachbody. It is the creators
of P90X and INSANITY.”
He said a great thing about
those programs is that you
can track how you have progressed
from Day 1 to the
end of the program.
“People develop differently
and hit goals differently,”
he said.

Diagnosis gives Frankfort man a ‘wake-up call’
Palos Community Hospital
committed to diabetes
program
Staff Report
A few months ago, Mark Hoops lost
his younger brother to kidney cancer.
Depressed, he turned to food to help
him deal with it.
“I was doing a lot of emotional eating
late at night; it was my way of
coping,” he said. “I got super heavy. I
wasn’t exercising. My body just quit.”
Hoops, 51, of Frankfort, concealed
how he was feeling for four or five
months because he did not want to
worry his family, who had already
been through so much. But he felt tingling
in his arms and feet and was out
of breath when walking up stairs. He
knew he needed to seek help.
He made an appointment with Dr.
Richard DeJong, his family physician
with Palos Medical Group. He
was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes,
which accounts for 90-95 percent of
all people with the disease.
Hoops’ diabetes was in the early
stages, and he immediately began
taking medication to help control his
blood glucose levels.
“That’s when I started getting serious
about taking ownership of my
diabetes,” he said. “Just by changing
what I eat and exercising, it has made
seismic shifts in the way I control my
diabetes and manage my life.”
A registered dietitian from Palos
Community Hospital’s Nutrition
Counseling and Diabetes Program
Services talked with Mark about monitoring
his blood glucose, helped him
adjust his diet and provided motivation
for necessary lifestyle changes.
“Our goal is to equip patients with
the knowledge, skills and tools they
need to successfully manage their diabetes
and delay or prevent many of
the complications associated with the
disease,” said Lela Iliopoulos, a registered
dietitian who serves as dietitian
supervisor for Diabetes Program
Services at Palos.
Hoops says the one-on-one time
with the registered dietitian was “phenomenal.”
They talked through strategies,
goals, what to eat and how to
count the values of the foods he eats.
“I walked out with marching orders,
and I’ve followed them every
day since,” he said.
With diet and exercise, Mark lost
nearly 70 pounds, averaging roughly
1.5 pounds a week. His ultimate
goal is to lose about 20 more pounds,
which would put him at the weight he
was when he got married.
Hoops said he does not see having
diabetes as a detriment.
“It caused me to wake up,” he said.
“I actually consider my diagnosis to
be something that helped me get back
in control of my life.”
Ingalls offers Lungs for Life screening at discount
Staff Report
Lung cancer kills more Americans
every year than any other type
of cancer, including breast, colon
and prostate cancers combined.
The reason? It is nearly impossible
to detect until the disease
is advanced.
That is why Ingalls offers Lungs
for Life, a lung cancer screening
and early detection program
that uses sophisticated spiral CT
scanning to detect cancerous lung
tumors as small as a grain of rice
— when the tumor is still highly
responsive to treatment.
For a limited time, Ingalls is offering
this screening for just $49,
down from the regular price of
$199, through Saturday, Jan. 31. A
physician order is not required to
schedule, but the test is not recommended
for everyone.
Candidates for the Lungs for
Life screening include current or
former smokers who:
• Are 55 to 74 years of age
• Have a smoking history of at
least 30 pack-years (this means
one pack of cigarettes a day for
30 years, two packs a day for 15
years, etc.)
For those who fit these criteria,
the low dose CT scan to screen for
lung cancer could be a life-saver.
In fact, in 2013, the U.S. Preventive
Services Task Force recommended
that all heavy smokers
at least 55 years of age who have
smoked the equivalent of a pack a
day for 30 years should have an annual
low dose CT scan to check for
lung cancer.
“After years of research, the task
force concluded that about 20 percent
of lung cancer deaths might
be avoided through early detection
and treatment,” explained Dr. Cressa
Perish, a board-certified family
practice physician at Ingalls.
Experts say the CT scan screenings
are comparable in their effectiveness
to mammography for
breast cancer and colonoscopy for
colorectal cancer.
The CT screening can find lung
cancers at an earlier stage when
they are most treatable, whereas
chest X-rays find tumors when they
are pretty far along.
“I talk to my patients at every
visit about the risks of smoking,”
Perish said. “I check for risk factors
and have a frank discussion about
smoking cessation. My biggest
goal is to convince them that it’s
not worthwhile to smoke. If they
don’t want to quit, and they meet
the criteria for the scan, I tell them
about this program that can catch
lung cancers earlier and greatly improve
long term survival.”
And earlier detection means a
much better chance for a cure.
The Lungs for Life screening at
Ingalls is a painless procedure that
uses low-dose radiation to scan the
entire chest in roughly 15 seconds,
during a single, large breath-hold.
And, only at Ingalls, also included
is a free screening spirometry
to help detect other lung function
disorders.
The scans can also help detect
other noncancerous lung conditions,
including emphysema and
pulmonary fibrosis.
For information about participating
in Ingalls’ Lungs for Life
screening, call (708) 915-5864.
Good news for smokers.
Smarter detection is smarter prevention. The good news is that lung cancer is relatively rare, even among smokers. The bad
news is that if lung cancer is diagnosed too late, it’s deadly. Of course, quitting smoking is the best prevention; you already know
that. But even if you’re not ready to quit, you can be smarter about managing your risk. The Ingalls Spiral CT Lung Scan is an early
alert system, providing the earliest possible detection of stage 1 tumors, when they can be most successfully treated.
• Ultra-precise detection of small tumors • Low level radiation exposure • Fast and easy procedure
• Clinically proven to save lives • Available without a prescription
Are you eligible?
You must meet the following criteria to qualify for the CT scan:
• 55 through 80 years old
• Have a 30 pack-year history of smoking
(1 pack/day - 30 yrs, 2 packs/day - 15 yrs, etc.)
• Are a current smoker, or quit within the last 15 years.
Time to play ‘vein
myth or fact’ with
Midwest Vein Center
Dr. Barbara Terpstra
Varicose veins are purely hereditary
Myth! While one does have a higher
chance of developing varicose veins if they
run in the family, one’s lifestyle also determines
risk for developing varicose veins.
How can one reduce this risk? Think circulation!
Long periods of sitting or standing
can inhibit blood flow, so try and keep blood
pumping throughout the day. Whether one
sits at a desk or stand for hours at a time,
make sure to take breaks and move around.
Exercise is another way to increase circulation
and reduce the chance of developing
vein disease.
Varicose veins can affect health
Fact! Varicose veins are caused when the
valves in veins that direct blood flow malfunction.
Instead of pushing blood through a
vein in one direction, the valves loosen and
blood pools by being pushed back and forth.
This pooling of blood affects circulation and
can cause you the feelings of pressure, tiredness
and pain in one’s legs.
Insurance often covers varicose
vein procedures
Fact! Most insurances cover varicose
veins procedures, as they are considered
more medical than cosmetic. At Midwest
Vein Center, there is an insurance team to
help patients through the filing process. Each
insurance carrier is different, and at Midwest
Vein Center, the goal is to make sure patients
know how much a procedure is going to cost.
For some people, there is an out-of-pocket
cost beyond what their insurances providers
cover. For other people, health insurance
covers their procedures at 100 percent.
Varicose vein procedures involve
vein stripping
Myth! Vein stripping is a procedure of the
past. Thirty years ago, having veins treated
meant undergoing a highly invasive procedure.
Patients had to be placed under anesthesia,
and the recovery time involved being
bedridden for weeks. Things have changed.
Today’s varicose vein procedures involve a
local anesthetic and a laser; patients can be
in and out of the procedure in an hour an
drive themselves home, even go to work the
next day.
Discover a Healthier,
Happier You
If excess weight is limiting your life, weight loss surgery may be right for you.
eight loss surgery is a powerful tool for helping people get
their health back,” confirms Christopher Joyce, MD, FACS,
FASMBS, Medical Director of BMI Surgery at Silver Cross
Hospital. Silver Cross is a seven-time national “100 Top
Hospitals” honoree and is Will County’s only American Society for
Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
Everything you’ll need to succeed is in one place: pre-surgical counseling, diet and exercise instruction,
state-of-the-art surgical and post-surgical facilities, peer support, and resources to help you maintain your
healthier lifestyle.
Select Procedures
“We offer all surgical options, including laparoscopic gastric bypass, gastric banding with the LAP-BAND® and
REALIZE® systems, gastric sleeve, and revisional bariatric procedures,” describes Dr. Joyce.
“While our surgeries have high safety standards, patients need to be aware that any surgery has risks,” he
reminds. “We help patients assess those risks when considering the benefits of better health.
“Surgery is a tool to help speed your weight loss,” he adds, “but it’s the program you choose that makes that tool
work best.”
He recommends choosing a multidisciplinary Center of Excellence with a successful track record and a high
volume of patients: “Surgeons at such Centers are more experienced and better able to anticipate and respond to
patients’ unique surgical needs. That translates into better outcomes.”
Donna Morris is slim and healthy 11 years after her
bariatric surgery performed by Dr. Christopher Joyce.
Once obese at 226 pounds, this mom has kept most of
the weight off. After losing 100 pounds, her high blood
pressure, asthma and back pain are completely gone.
And she has more energy than ever before.
Donna was the first patient to have laparoscopic
Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery at Silver Cross in 2003.
Gastric bypass is considered the “gold standard” of
bariatric surgery because it has the highest weight loss
success rate. Patients at Silver Cross lose an average
of 81% of their excess weight 12 to 18 months after
surgery. Five years after the surgery, the average
weight loss remains high at 78% indicating the durability
of the surgery.
She contributes her long-term weight loss to the
support she still receives from Dr. Joyce and his team,
regular exercise, and healthy food choices.
Life, diabetes
and Vitality
Staff Report
Exercising
out of the box
Everyone gains weight
for different reasons, and
cookie-cutter diets do not
address the underlying reasons
for a person’s weight
gain. Vitality utilizes the
NutriMost System, which
accounts for more than
2,800 factors contributing
to weight gain, specifically
fat burning, fat storage, fat
metabolism, detoxification
and hormone balance.
Because of NutriMost
Resonant Frequency technology,
we can discover
what is out of balance and
work to bring the body
back into balance naturally.
Once balanced, weight loss
is easy, fast and safe.
Take Rick for example.
Rick has been a Type 2 diabetic
for 15 years. When he
came to Vitality he said,
Thousands have been
helped by the Nutrimost
program, with some losing
roughly 80 pounds and being
taken off insulin.
Vitality is helping people
transform their lives
without drugs, surgery,
hormones and prepackaged
foods. This is all
possible because of the
breakthrough technology
of NutriMost.
Dr. Jason Heydinger and
the team at Vitality, strive
daily to realize their vision
of a happier, healthier, fullof-life
community with less
sickness, less disease and
less suffering, where children
are healthier, families
are happier and marriages
and relationships
are enriched.
Hula-hooping serves
as alternative to the
exercise norms
Meredith Dobes,
Contributing Editor
For those who aren’t into
going for a long, boring jog
(particularly in the freezing
cold, Midwest winter), investing
in a gym membership
(with all those judging
eyes) or playing a typical
team sport, there is an alternative.
There is a way to have
fun, get fit and make exercise
your own — if
that kind of thing matters
to you.
Googling “alternative
exercise methods” certainly
pulls up a list of interesting
results. Bloggers
and fitness experts write
about exercise methods
ranging from dancing in
stilettos for leg strength to
parkour — an activity that
involves scaling fences or
walls and using maximum
muscle movement to get
from place to place, usually
practiced outside.
Thinking outside of the
fitness box can make exercise
more appealing, entertaining
and comfortable.
My alternative exercise
of choice is Hula-hooping.
Hula-hoops are not just
toys, and hooping can be an
intense, fun workout.
The type of Hula-hooping
I do involves elements
of dance and uses muscles
in the core, and upper and
lower body.
I just began this form of
exercise in the summer, so
I am currently somewhere
in between a beginner and
intermediate level.
This exercise form can
be seen as just a talent or
a series of tricks — routines
can be used for performance
— but its benefits
are undeniable. It increases
coordination and balance.
As more moves are mastered,
the intensity and
speed at which they can be
done tones muscles.
To start, picking the right
hoop is essential to success,
especially as a beginner. It
is possible to use hoops
purchased in the toy section
of Target or Wal-Mart,
but these may be too small
and are likely not weighted
correctly.
A good rule of thumb is
to choose a hoop that reaches
your belly button when
set on the floor. Hoops
made for adult beginners
are typically made from
thicker tubing that creates
slower spin, which is much
easier to use when learning
moves. These hoops can be
bought online from a variety
of companies. Before
buying a hoop, it is a good
idea to do some research on
hoop companies to ensure
the hoop will be of good
quality and will last.
The essential beginning
step is to rotate the hoop
around the hips. From
there, by using different abdominal
muscles, the hoop
can be moved from the core
to the chest or from the core
to the legs.
Moving the hoop up and
down the body — without
placing it there with one’s
hands — requires the use of
most abdominal muscles.
This is one of the most
strenuous parts of hooping.
Though hooping, itself, is
exercise, it is a good idea
to supplement hooping
with running or another
cardiovascular exercise
that works out the abdomen
in order to strengthen
the core.
Hand movements can be
incorporated into hooping,
particularly when the basic
skills are mastered and the
person is finding his or her
“flow.” Flow is defined as
the complete focus on the
rhythm of hooping. Once
flow is obtained, the person
can move from skill to skill,
with ease, in a routine.
For those who would
prefer to learn by example,
there are Hula-hoop classes
— in this area, primarily
in Chicago — and there
is a huge online community
of people who practice
hula hooping. Tutorial
videos on YouTube are my
main teacher.
The one thing to remember
is that new skills
should be worked on until
mastery is complete. It can
be frustrating when something
is not working, and
it can be exciting when a
skill is done right for the
first time. However, working
on skills until they have
been perfected will be the
most beneficial to muscles
and, if desired, to performance
routines.
Hula-hooping is just one
alternative form of exercise,
and it happens to
be one of my exercises of
choice, based on my living
situation and personal interests.
If you’re tired of the
normal activities you most
likely learned about in high
school gym class, there is
an exercise form out there
for you. It just takes a little
bit of research and a whole
lot of self-motivation.

“My best workout tip is persistence and
Have fun with your exercise
Michael Gilbert, Contributing Editor
The thought of huffing and puffing and
pushing yourself to the limit is usually a
good enough reason for most to never get off
the couch.
But exercise doesn’t need to be an activity
that is dreaded. Besides controlling weight
gain, boosting energy and combating diseases,
exercise can also be fun.
Depending on the type of exercise done, it
can allow you to enjoy nature, unwind and
even catch up a favorite television show –
we’ll explain that one later.
The following are three ways to make exercise
an activity that you can look forward
to, rather than shudder at the thought.
Grab a partner – Exercise is more enjoyable
when you have a friend along with on
the journey. Not only does a workout buddy
provide you with someone to talk to, they
can also provide great motivation. If you are
working out with a person who is in better
shape or more skilled in that particular workout,
it can give you the willpower to persevere
and either set a personal best or reach
limits you didn’t know could be obtained.
Grab a watch – In my opinion, one of
the best things to hit the exercise market in
the past five years are sports watches that
can track your mileage, pace and heart rate
and by using global position system show
where you have been. Garmin may be best
known as the company that sells those handheld
navigation devices to use in your car,
but they also manufacture GPS watches that
put the traditional stopwatch to shame. The
watches start at approximately $150 and after
you have completed your workout, you
simply upload the data from your watch to
a website by using a USB cord. After the
workout has been uploaded, you can find
your time, distance, pace and even the altitude
in which you were working out. I’ve
been using a Garmin watch for my runs for
the past three years and it also keeps track of
my fastest 5K and 10K times. The watch can
offer a good form of motivation to walk or
run an extra block or two.
Grab a bike – A stationary bike, that is.
When it is too dark and cold to workout outside,
a stationary bike can be a great way to
get in your cardio. One of the biggest knocks
against a stationary bike is that it is boring
since you are doing all this pedaling but not
going anywhere. Well, one of the biggest
positives to a stationary bike is that most are
mobile enough that you can move them next
to a TV. I can’t tell you how easy it is to forget
you are even working out when your attention
is focused on either the latest episode
of your favorite TV show or the big game.
Stationary bikes are very affordable and
there is no monthly membership fee.
Commission and the U.S.
Fire Administration that
15,500 fires associated with
clothes dryers occur annually.
These fires account for
an average of 20 deaths, 370
injuries and more than $88
million in property damage.
“Failure to clean the dryer
vent” was the leading factor
cited in the U.S. according
to the Fire Administration
reports. Joe Enzenberger,
owner of Dryer Vent Wizard,
opened his New Lenoxbased
business in 2009 and
knows all about these kinds
incontinence, interstitial cystitis,
endometriosis, chronic
pelvic pain, fibroids and abnormal
uterine bleeding.
For one’s own health,
as well as that of the baby,
Women’s Healthcare provides
chromosomal abnormalities.
It also offers on-site
antenatal testing, Level 2 ultrasound
and amniocentesis.
of dangers.
“It is something very few
people know about or think
about,” said Enzenberger,
whose company specializes
in dryer vent cleaning, repair,
alteration and installation.
“It is the leading cause
of dryer fires.”
Lint accumulation also
can cause dryers to stop
working or to work inefficiently.
A dryer vent clogged
with lint can add as much as
$18 to $24 per month to energy
costs.
“Improper venting causes
problems, as well,” he said.
“The dryer exhaust duct and
connections should be made
of rigid metal or semi-rigid
metal and secured with metal
heat-resistant tape rather
than duct tape. I often find
plastic or foil accordion-type
material, which can easily
trap lint and is more susceptible
to kinks and crushing.”
Warning signs include:
clothes are taking more than
one cycle to dry, especially
jeans and towels; no lint
visible on lint screen; dryer
repeatedly stops during a
cycle; clothes have moldy
smell after dry cycle; clothes
are very hot after a dry cycle;
the top of the dryer is
hot to the touch while running;
there’s excess lint left
in clothing.
“This has been a consumer
education process,
but it’s hard to get the word
out,” Enzenberger said.
“Most don’t call until they
have a serious problem with
their dryer.”
He suggests people treat
clothes dryers as a household
item in need of regular maintenance.
Consumers can protect
dryer performance and
promote safety by cleaning
the lint screen between each
use, ensuring the connection
between the dryer and wall
is made of compliant material
and remains un-kinked,
and having the dryer exhaust
duct cleaned regularly.
Dryer manufacturers recommend
inspection and cleaning
at least annually.
The holiday season is a
great time to have an inspection
and cleaning of
clothes dryers and dryer
vent systems.
Beyer Chiropractic offers treatment
options for thyroid conditions
Staff Report
Losing weight and living a healthier
lifestyle is a popular New Year’s resolution;
but for many, diet and exercise
alone doesn’t cut it — and it may not
be their fault.
Research suggests there is an estimated
20 million cases of undiagnosed
hypothyroidism in the United States, a
chronic condition that causes abnormal
production of thyroid hormones affecting
the body’s metabolic processes.
Researchers regard a lack of comprehensive
testing in mainstream medical
practices as one of the main culprits to
the finding.
“Traditional medical approaches to
thyroid conditions are over 50 years
old,” said Dr. Stephen Beyer. “It only
recognizes one type of thyroid malfunction,
when in actuality there are
24 specific ways the thyroid can be
dysfunctional. In most instances, individuals
seeking treatment are receiving
antiquated care and are not being diagnosed
properly.”
Through advancements in medical
understanding and approaches,
most thyroid problems can be managed
well if properly diagnosed and
treated. A lot of times this can be done
naturally, without any harmful drugs or
side effects.
Diagnosed with a low-functioning
thyroid condition at the age of 18, Corey
[last name withheld] suffered from
insomnia, weight gain, depression and
moodiness for more than a decade before
finding relief at the Beyer Chiropractic
Center in Frankfort.
“For years I felt like there was a film
over my eyes and life,” he said. “Ever
since this new treatment, that film has
been lifted. The weight started falling
right off, I slept better, and the pressure
was gone – It’s been life changing.”
When asked what makes his methods
so different from general procedures,
Beyer attributes research advancements,
new methods and a more natural,
functional approach.
“What we do is unique,” Beyer said.
“We do proper testing - not guessing -
to find out what is really going on with
your body. Then we focus on fixing the
cause, not covering the symptoms.”
The difference?
Proper testing and a very powerful
“neuro-metabolic” or functional
approach in the treatment of thyroid
conditions. This approach has given
relief to many who have suffered for
years under the traditional drug/hormone
approach.
Alice suffered from a variety of
symptoms including weight gain, fatigue,
vertigo and brain fog. She started
seeing results immediately after seeking
treatment at Beyer Chiropractic
Center.
“My kids are excited to have their
mom back,” Alice said. “My husband is
excited to have his wife back, and I’m
excited to have my life back. And it was
all done in a 16-week program.”
Common symptoms of thyroid conditions
include: fatigue, difficulty managing
weight gain/loss, cold hands and/
or feet, heart palpitations, difficult or
infrequent bowel movements, depression,
insomnia, lack of motivation,
night sweats, mental sluggishness, thinning
hair/ hair falling out,and dryness
of skin and/or scalp.
