There once was a young Boy who
lived in a small, white house on
top of a mountain, where he
could see around for miles.
4 5

At the foot of the
mountain, a small stream
flowed and merged into
a much larger river.
6 7

The people living in Lagoa Branca knew
right away when a stranger came to town.
Even at a distance, looking up, they saw
everything happening in their village.
They knew who was coming, who was
staying, and who was leaving.
8 9

The young Boy who lived in the village
liked to observe everything, not only
at a distance but also up close.
10 11

With his keen eyesight, he watched the
ants carrying leaves into their anthill
and the birds collecting twigs to build
their nests.
12 13

The Boy became aware of
other things happening, too.
14 15

He could feel a strong wind blowing
through the village, and it always seemed
to be full of dreams.
The wind magically shifted
the clouds into different shapes.
16 17

The Boy dreamed of the clouds
drawing whatever he wanted.
Did he want a smile? He closed his eyes and
when he opened them, a huge smile appeared
up in the sky.
If the Boy dreamed of a big hug, he closed
his eyes tightly and when he opened them,
two giant arms formed above him.
18 19

However, the Boy knew that in real life
he could not always have everything he
wanted so magically.
He also knew that with a little imagination
nothing is impossible. If he could dream it,
he could make it happen.
20 21

When he grew older, the Boy discovered
that in order for some wishes to come
true, he needed something called money.
22 23

Being very smart, the Boy noticed that
money could not buy everything, not
a cloud in the sky, or a sunset,
or happiness on a rainy day.
24 25

The Boy understood that some
dreams are for sale while others
are not, and that every dream for
sale has a price.
However, money was necessary
to buy some wishes such as an
ice cream treat, a soccer ball,
or a skateboard.
26 27

Looking closely, in his mind’s eye,
the Boy determined that the
price of things depended on how
difficult it had been for someone
to create them.
He saw that it was easier to make
an ice cream treat than an airplane.
Therefore, it was logical that it took
more money to buy an airplane than
an ice cream cone!
28 29

The Boy felt sad, because he
realized that if people did not
have enough money, they could
not make their dreams come true.
As he thought about the dreams
of others, the Boy came up with
a bright idea!
30 31

He remembered the ants struggling to
carry leaves into their anthill and the
bird building its nest one twig at a time.
The Boy thought money could
be something like that. It could
build people’s dreams.
32 33

Best of all, anyone could do it: those who
have much, those who have little, those
who are big, and those who are small.
That is how the Boy found a way to make
money into dreams from a single penny.
34 35

The Boy was so clever and smart.
He knew many more things!
However, there is one thing he did
not know. The tale of The Boy and the
Money would become the Money Boy,
but that is another story.
36 37

It is the story of a boy who
found a way to fulfill dreams from
a single penny and, who goes out
into the world teaching his method
to everyone he meets.
Reinaldo Domingos was born in Casa Branca, a city in the
State of São Paulo. His father was a railway worker and his
mother a self-employed worker. At the age of 12, he dreamed
of buying a bike. He adopted a strategy of saving a little
money every month, which he earned as an assistant vendor,
to accomplish his dream. This became the basis of the DSOP
Methodology: a simple and efficient way of dealing with
money, changing habits, and accomplishing dreams.
