ukmoneysite, have completed thousands of reviews for consumer
investors with statistics showing that 9 in 10 contain poor performing
funds and 6 in 10 are comprised of an asset allocation model that is not
suitable to that investors personal risk profile.
The ukmoneysite portfolio reviews have proven to be highly effective in
communicating the true performance of an investors existing portfolio -
showcasing, with factual and easy to digest information the potential for
improvement.
For professional financial advisers, this is a highly engaging process that
helps to win trust, showcase their expertise and generate new clients.
The following sample review is based on an actual portfolio provided to
ukmoneysite for analysis by a private investor. Following the review, a
ukmoneysite client executive discussed options for improving that
investors portfolio by either subscribing to the ukmoneysites data service
or by being referred to a recommended local adviser who utilises our
data. Based on the findings from our review, the investor requested to be
referred to a professional adviser to manage over £300,000 of their
savings.
Por$olio review contents
Each portfolio review is comprised of the following three core sections.
1. 1 Fund performance analysis. This section rates and ranks each
individual fund based on how they performed alongside all other
competing same sector funds over the most recent 1, 3 and 5 years.
2. 2 Volatility Analysis. To provide each investor with a visual overview of
the volatility of their existing portfolio, we analyse the volatility of
their portfolio alongside a selection of model portfolios. Each
ukmoneysite model portfolio is comprised only of consistently top
performing funds and follows an asset allocation model as set by the
consumer watchdog Which?
3. 3 Portfolio Growth Analysis. The portfolio growth analysis section
highlights the overall growth achieved by that investors portfolio
over the most recent 1 and 5 year periods and compares this growth
to that achieved by our model portfolios.
Talk To Our Team
All professional advisers who subscribe to the ukmoneysite precision
adviser service will have unfiltered access to our model portfolios. When
5 Year Vola;lity Analysis
You have informed us that you consider yourself to be a Cautious investor.
The below graph provides a volatility analysis of your existing portfolio over the
most 5 year period (31 st May 2011 to 31 st May 2016) and compares that to the
volatility of our model Moderately Aggressive, Balanced, Cautious and
Defensive portfolios.
Volatility is how sharply and how frequently a fund of share price moves up or
down over a certain period of time. Generally, when investors assume a higher
level of volatility they are either unaware they are doing so, or they are willing to
assume higher risk in the hope of netting extra investment growth.
Por>olio Performance Summary
There are 10 funds within your existing portfolio. Each of these 10 funds were analysed
and rated based on their comparative performance alongside every other competing
same sector fund over the most recent 1, 3 and 5 years.
From the 10 funds analysed 1 had managed to maintain consistent top performance
(top 75%) during the most recent 1, 3 and 5 year period. This fund was the ‘Jupiter
European’ fund, which managed to consistently outperform 92% of funds in its sector
during the most recent 5 years.
The remaining 9 funds within your portfolio were all classified as poor performing
funds. Each of these funds have performed worse than at least 50% of all other funds in
their respective sectors. The ‘Neptune Japan Opportunities A Acc GBP’ fund performed
worse than 99% of competing same sector funds over the past 5 years. The ‘Investec
American A Hedged Acc GBP’ fund was the worst performing fund in the entire UT
North American sector over the most recent 5 year period.
You have advised previously that you consider yourself to have a Cautious investment
profile. To determine the volatility of your existing portfolio we carried out a 5 year
volatility analysis comparing your portfolios volatility to that of a selection of our top
performing model portfolios. Our analysis established that your existing portfolio is
assuming a level of volatility that is greater than a Cautious profile and similar to that of
a Moderately Aggressive investor.
In order to maximise your investment growth in a manner that is suitable to your risk
profile all funds you invest within should be consistently top performing and fit within
an asset allocation model that is suitable to your ever changing risk profile.
