For years the South Bronx has been branded with a poor reputation, but
residents still respect and appreciate it for its deep rooted culture.
Recently, developers have planned to rename the South Bronx to ‘The
Piano District’ in an attempt to gentrify the borough. This made some
people upset…
“I appreciate the humility of its citizens. For a city so world renown for
being the financial and cultural capital of America, the Bronx seems to be
the only part of it completely insulated from NYC’s more bourgeois
sensibilities. The people are hospitable, proud, unassuming, healthily
cynical but most of all, refreshingly void of pretension.”
appreciate about the Bronx?”
