Scholarships<br />
New scholarships in <strong>2015</strong>-16<br />
The Gene Humphrey Scholarship Fund in memory<br />
of Hughie E. Humphrey honors the memory of<br />
both Rolene Humphrey’s husband and his son.<br />
Available to full-time students with high academic<br />
performance who are majoring in a science,<br />
technology, engineering or math discipline.<br />
The Carla’s Wings of a Butterfly ADN Scholarship<br />
was established in honor of a cherished SIC nursing<br />
instructor by her family. Funds from this scholarship<br />
will pay for tuition, fees and books for a student in<br />
the Associate Degree Nursing program.<br />
Graves-Absher Scholarship<br />

The Foundation processes over 230 scholarships every<br />
year, providing students with thousands of dollars<br />
to help them achieve their dreams. Scholarships<br />
help cover tuition, books, and related expenses<br />
that make education accessible and affordable.<br />
Yearly, more than 70 percent of Southeastern students<br />
receive some form of financial aid and/or scholarships<br />
and approximately $4 million is awarded.<br />
The application deadline for scholarships is Feb. 28.<br />

Alumni & Friends<br />
The Southeastern Illinois College Alumni & Friends<br />
Association was created to continue the relationship<br />
between the College and its former students. : There are<br />
three levels of membership priced between $30 and $100,<br />
in addition to a new lifetime membership priced at $1,000<br />
($200/year for five years) that will be used to start building<br />
a new alumni endowment.<br />
The SIC Alumni & Friends Association has established<br />
a scholarship program that is open to all students with<br />
preference given to children/legal wards of current<br />
members of the Association.<br />

a big university yet. SIC has already done a lot for me – being able to take<br />
college classes during high school was a big help to get a jump on college.”<br />
