A Message from the President

President
Southeastern Illinois College
We here at Southeastern Illinois College live our mission every day. SIC
enhances lifelong learning by providing an array of higher educational
opportunities. Plus, the College keeps students from going into debt
by providing hundreds of scholarships, both public and private, as well
as keeping our tuition low. We offer cultural enrichment opportunities
and support economic development. All of this is done with great pride and praise. Our nursing scores are
in the top flight in Illinois. Transfer students find a larger university curriculum much easier than native
students do—and at a fraction of the cost. The diesel program is nationally recognized. Our competitive
teams, like forensics and archery as well as Model Illinois Government, are the best of the best. Theatre
and musical productions and the many service projects that our clubs and organizations, like Phi Theta
Kappa and Phi Beta Lambda, engage are top flight. Southeastern makes a huge difference in the lives
of so many in our area, and has done so for over 50 years. As we move into the next semi-centennial of
service, we plan on even greater things to come. Please take time to review this community report on your
