We look forward to a great 2010-2011school year and hope that you will be a vital part of educating young women in the Notre Dame tradition.
ND Alums can take pride in 100% of the Class of 2010 who enrolled in colleges this Fall with 67% of the class receiving scholarships totally $4.5
million to a university of their choice. We wish them our best and continued support as they become part of our vibrant alumnae.
Our 2010 award winning faculty: Carol Marinaro, Ann Bolzenius and Bev Miller (Giamanco) continue to bring our students new opportunities for
growth. Ms. Bolzenius now is a contributing member of the National Board of Student Councils. Mrs. Miller, as recipient of the Emerson Gold
Star Grant, will offer seniors in the Child and Family Development course some exciting family heritage activities using new mobile web-based
technology.
S. Michelle Emmerich
Our award winning student body increased their global awareness with action on behalf of the women and children in Haiti and Mkar, Nigeria.
Students working with Campus Minister Liz Miller and other ND teacher leaders raised almost $10,000. collectively in the past school year for a
desperate recovery situation in Haiti and to help build a dorm building in Nigeria to provide shelter for young Nigerian girls attending a Notre Dame Secondary School. The
dorm building also protects these young women from assault and other dangers and thus enables them to concentrate on learning and completing a secondary education. Notre
Dame women, standing in solidarity with other women around the world, gives them a ‘fighting chance” for hope!
ND is also blessed to have received a $34,000 technology grant for the 2010-2011 school year which enables us to complete the installation of interactive whiteboards
(Prometheans) in most classrooms on the campus. Teachers have received an introductory training session in May 2010 and will be integrating interactive whiteboard activities
into teaching and learning at ND. Other professional development for technology integration will continue throughout the school year. We encourage you to visit Notre Dame
in 2010-2011 and to become actively involved in your school. We value your contribution of time, talent and treasure as we continue to educate young women in the
Notre Dame tradition. You make a difference!
