<strong>Digital</strong> banks have several natural constituencies in both developed and, especially,<br />
developing economies 8 :<br />
• Pr<strong>of</strong>essional consumers with at least an undergraduate college education;<br />
• <strong>Digital</strong>ly educated middle upper-mass and mass-affluent pr<strong>of</strong>essional and managerial<br />
consumers;<br />
• <strong>Digital</strong>ly savvy Gen Y (students and young pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in their 20s to 30s) digitalbanking<br />
natives, who are exceedingly digitally savvy. <strong>The</strong>y will form the foundation <strong>of</strong><br />
the customer base for the digital bank;<br />
• SMEs that go mainstream using a digital banking platform designed for their needs;<br />
potentially banking 45 million underbanked or unbanked SMEs globally 9 .<br />
