Thursday 13th October YOUR ANXIOUS TEEN: UNDERSTANDING ANXIETY IN YOUNG PEOPLE Thursday 13th October, 5:30pm – 6:30pm Cobaw Woodend Hub Presented by Martin – Social Worker/Youth Counsellor, Cobaw Community Health Anxiety is more and more becoming one of the major struggles that young people are experiencing, impacting negatively on their schooling, social life, family relationships and general wellbeing. This workshop/presentation is equally for parents, young people and those who work with them and will look at some practical ways in which we can understand anxiety and begin to address it. Teaching young people how to drive can be both stressful and difficult for the parent and the young person, however there is a way to do it without going mad. Come join David as he shares a few insider tips about the best way to teach your young person how to drive.
Friday 14th October SENIORS EXERCISE CLASS SENIORS Friday 14th October, 9:00am – 10:00am Woodend Neighbourhood House Presented by Jan – Teacher & Fitness Instructor, Woodend Neighbourhood Centre It’s never too late to get active, so why not start the day right and get up and moving with Jan’s Seniors Exercise class? Have fun moving to music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Space will be provided for any questions you may have about drug and alcohol use and its relation to mental health. Please register your attendance online via Goldfields Library: www.ncgrl.vic.gov.au MEN, MASCULINITY & SPORT: EVERYBODY ‘SCRUM’ MOVIE SCREENING & Q&A PANEL Friday 14th October, 6:00pm – 9:30pm The Norma Richardson Hall, St Mary’s Woodend Presented by Cobaw Community Health & VACountry Highlighted as our feature event, and proudly supported by VACountry and Rainbow Network, Cobaw will screen the award winning Australian documentary Scrum which tells a story of determination, acceptance, and brotherhood that’s changing the way people view sport, masculinity and homosexuality. Following the screening will be a Q&A panel featuring a key selection of local professionals that specialise in or work closely supporting men.
