recreation<br />
The residents of New Lenox are fortunate to have their park and recreational needs addressed in a number of different<br />
ways. These are: the New Lenox Park District, the Forest Preserve District of Will County, and many volunteer youth<br />
sports organizations.<br />
New Lenox Community Park District<br />
The New Lenox Community Park District is proud to serve over<br />
60,000 New Lenox Village and Township residents. To serve this<br />
community, a strong group of individuals consisting of five Park<br />
Board Commissioners, a hard-working staff of 23 full-time and<br />
over 200 seasonal part-time employees, are dedicated to serving<br />
this community’s recreational activities. Currently, the parks/<br />
maintenance department maintains and administers to over 35<br />
park sites and amenities they contain.<br />
The Park District’s programming options continues to grow with<br />
each seasonal catalog. Published three times per year, the catalog<br />
offers over 300 different educational programs, athletics, fitness,<br />
special events, sport leagues and travel excursions, child care<br />
services for students attending New Lenox School District #122,<br />
and numerous summer camp opportunities.<br />
In addition, the Park District operates The Sanctuary, an 18-hole<br />
championship golf course located on Marley Road. As a quality,<br />
“links style” golf course, the Sanctuary provides a challenge for<br />
