Direction for My Journey to Maturity
There are four learning levels of My Journey to Maturity: Awareness, Knowledge, Skill and Discipleship.
• All members are expected to be enrolled for their Journey throughout the calendar year.
• Members are encouraged should register for all classes at enrollment due to limited seating.
• Members should only repeat a class if attendance was less than 66% (4 of 6 weeks or 8 of 12 weeks).
• Journey classes can be completed in any order, no prerequisites.
• Attendance is tracked for each Journey class.
• Visitors are not required to enroll and encouraged to attend.
The Four Stages of Learning
AWARENESS LEVEL
Before learning can occur, we must first establish a "need to know.” The Awareness Level provides a broad
overview of the need, describes the scope of the information to be learned, and clarifies the objectives of the
journey.
Class Format: topical approach & discussion based for 6 weeks
KNOWLEDGE LEVEL
The Knowledge Level is the development of understanding, enabling students to connect the relationships
between awareness and the elements of knowledge.
Class Format: exposition approach & discussion based for 6 weeks
SKILL LEVEL
"Now that I understand all this, how does it really apply to my life? What am I supposed to do with it?" The
Skill Level defines and describes, in detail, how particular knowledge and skills are applied to your life,
family, ministry and career.
Class Format: Expositional approach, discussion based & subject expert video contributions for 6 weeks
DISCIPLESHIP LEVEL
The Discipleship Level is the level of growth momentum. This is where you develop the capacity to feed
yourself and others with less challenge. The Discipleship Level introduces you to observation, modeling,
feedback, repetition, mastery and eventually doing it without having to think about it.
Class Format: Topical Approach, discussion based, independent research & presentation, subject expert
video contributions for 12 weeks
LIFE GROUPS
Life is not meant to be lived alone. You were created to experience life with other people, and that’s why at
Sugar Creek, we’ve included life groups in the journey. If you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus,
you need to have intentional relationships with people who have the same goal. In a Life Group, eight to
twelve adults in the same stage of life meet regularly for a few weeks to pursue spiritual growth and healthy
relationships.

Enrollment Dates:
Classes are listed on the following pages. Each class is divided into Blocks.
• Numerical Blocks are Sunday Classes i.e. Block “1-8” Sunday Classes.
• Alphabetical Blocks are Wednesday Classes i.e. Block “A-H” Wednesday Classes.
Two Ways to Begin:
• Every Sunday and Wednesday before class, you can find a Journey Navigator in the lobby who is there to assist you on
your Journey. Journey Navigator wear a “Navigator Badge.”
• Don’t need a Navigator? Simple go to your Journey Enrollment Account at SC.MyJ2M.org to to begin.
Student Workbooks:
• Student workbook in hard copy or interactive Ebook can be purchased for each Journey class through the Journey
Enrollment Account online.
• Purchased hard copies can be picked up from a Journey Navigator. Ebooks are available on any device after purchase.
