Students can begin by understanding the real color<br />

wheel and the different types of color.<br />

Primary <strong>Color</strong>s: Red, Yellow, and Blue<br />

Secondary <strong>Color</strong>s: Orange, Green, Violet<br />

Tertiary <strong>Color</strong>: Red/Orange; Red/Violet; Yellow/Orange;<br />

Yellow/Green; Blue/Violet; Blue/Green.<br />

Also the different color schemes:<br />

Complementary: <strong>Color</strong>s that are opposite on the color<br />

wheel. Such as, Red/Green; Blue/Orange; Yellow/Violet.<br />

Split-Complements: Three colors that complement each<br />

other such as, Red/Blue/Yellow; Orange/Violet/Green.


Next, students should draw the primary triangle with<br />

the primary colors by the points, such as:<br />

Then repeat the same steps, but <strong>for</strong> the secondary<br />

colors:


Then repeat the same steps <strong>for</strong> the Tertiary colors:<br />

Students can use this color wheel to develop<br />

their color choices <strong>for</strong> future assignments<br />

whether it be painting, digital assignments, or<br />

using colors in general.
