ASCHELY CONE<br />
Aschely Cone has a MFA from the Maryland <strong>In</strong>stitute College of <strong>Art</strong> and completed her BA<br />
in Liberal <strong>Art</strong>s at St. John’s College. Aschely’s paintings investigate notions of the double<br />
through the repeated motifs of arches and shields, which signify entry and obstruction, and<br />
the act of being veiled. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US and internationally in<br />
the UK and Germany. She has won numerous fellowships and grants for her work including<br />
The Henry Walters Traveling Fellowship in <strong>2016</strong> and was the finalist for the Toby Devan<br />
Lewis Fellowship. Aschely has completed international residencies such as the Cambridge<br />
<strong>Art</strong>works Residency and the Y Residency in Berlin. Her works have been featured in New<br />
American Paintings magazine.<br />
