Organized in 1918<br />
The McKownville Fire Department was established in 1918 and has 57 active members. Located at the<br />
eastern end of the Town of Guilderland the Department’s coverage includes 900+ residential homes,<br />
Stuyvesant Plaza, Executive Park, part of the Albany SUNY Campus, several high-rise structures and numerous<br />
public and private businesses.<br />
The Department and Auxiliary hold several fundraising activities throughout the year including a Spring<br />
Drawing, Chicken Barbecue, and a Fall Turkey Drawing.<br />
