"Which is greater, study or action?
Rabbi Tarfon spoke up and said: Action
is greater. Rabbi Akiva spoke up and
said: Study is greater. The others then
spoke up and said: Study is greater
because it leads to action."
– Babylonian Talmud, Kiddushin 40b
“It is the messianic vision that has
lived for thousands of years in the
heart of the Jewish people, the
vision of national and universal
salvation, and the aspiration to be
the covenant of the people and
a light of the nations, that has
preserved us to this day, and only
through loyalty to our Jewish and
universal mission will we safeguard
our future in the homeland and
our standing among nations of the
world.”
