Hi, I’m an Architecture Graduate
currently seeking for a job has a
strong belief in architecture as a
part of a process of evolving the
societies, cities and the civilisation.
Architecture is always a reflection
of a cultural and religious part of
an individual society, and thus this
part of the process is the resultant
of a whole process in the making.
Slum Rehabilitation
8th sem 2015 (Jan - May)
Introduction
The area the slum of the vasant vihar is situated in the south end
part of the district which is known as the aravalli bio diversity park.
Located at the one of prominent posh area
of delhi, the population these slum provides
services like security guards, cardrivers, maid etc.
Such type of economical and social criteria is one of the major
reason for the slum creation in the urban cities of the world.
Project Details
Vasant vihar, New delhi
area
0.158 km2
Breif
The breif was given to redevelop a slum in a way to get the
the good quality of living with providing sufficient amount
of housing unit to the population residing in these slums.
And
also, to maintain the social and
cultural structure inside the settlement.
Design Approach
to keep the character and the fabric of the settlement
certain observation based spatial analysis were done on
two factors such as visibility and spatial configuration.
Mass Void Relation is 85/15
while studying the fabric two types of cluster
were observed inside the settlements:
1) cluster with small alleys without any cental open space,
Enclosure Value
the enclosure value inside these cluster shows
the level of intrusion by the outsider whereas the,
cluster 1 shows the shared alleys as a social space shared by
2 - 3 families,
and
cluster 2 shows the common central social space shared by
many families.
2.5m
Enclosure in an alley with the width of 2.5
m allows people to interact.
Enclosure in a main road with the width
of 5 m allows it to be a commercial spine
as well.
Isovist Diagram
Isovist diagram in cluster 2 shows the
level of interaction of an individual
to the built mass around itself.
Isovist diagram in cluster 1 shows the confined
viewshed whereas due to the enclosure in these
space allow social relation in these cluster.
High rise housing and Social structure
with the increase in height the social structure of the
settlement goes decreasing as both height and social
structure are inversely proportional to each other.
Proposed unit plan
UNIT AREA = 58m2
Block Arrangement
Open Terrace
Sectional Elevation
As per reasearch on various house forms and settlements the
resultant social engagement indicators found very common in
the societies were verandah, terraces, balcony and lobby area.
These areas has such efficiency of engaging the interaction
and other social activities as seen in various studies.
Jammu Tawi Riverfront Development
9th Sem 2015 (Aug - Dec)
Introduction
The river front development was an urban design exercise
which shall be envisaged as a city’s identity in the state
without been compromising the original image, fabric and
the character of the city. Whereas the the final result of
the design shall be integrated to the urban form of the city.
Context
While studying the different zones on various parameters
certain patterns revealed that the following developments are
varying in the levels of synergy and intelligibility. However, the
common thing that came up as the evolution of the upcoming
developments was the higher level of synergy and intelligibility
within them, leading to a greater local and visitors interaction
and better comprehension and intuitiveness respectively.

Skyline Analysis
While targeting the legibility and workin on the isovist
system has also been carved by the skyline variations as
followed in the places with highly globaly integrated places.
Juvenile Correctional Facility
Thesis 10th Sem 2016 (Jan - May)
Introduction
A correctional facility is a compound design made with the
purpose to reform the prisoner , to provide security to the
society from the criminal offender and to provide the inmate
a public statement of moral, political, and social virtue.
Aim
The aim is to study the potential of the built environment
in creating a humanising space which can catalyse
the positive life process inside the correctional facility.
Context
the relation of a correctional facility with the city/society
Site Area = 13.14 acre
Location: North Delhi
Year : 2016
Correctional Facility
City/Society
The Relation
The belief which exist in our society is to keep any
correctional facility segregated from the city or society.
Theoretical Background
In a process of growing up of a child, certain attitudes,
skills and feelings have been evolved with the childhood
experiences. Whereas these experiences helps in
building up the character and self worth of a person.
Role of Experience
Furthermore, human learning on occurs
on two levels: cognitve (information, facts,
and knowledge) and affective (feelings).
Experiences not only provide information
and knowledge, but they also provoke feelings
and influence attitudes.
Relationship of Experience to Behavior

Distribution of the Services Inside the Correcional Facility
The quality of life inside the facility mostly deals with the depressing environment
explained as no natural light inside the room segregation or incarcenation from
the outer environment and the most imprtantly the iteraction of the individual with
the other , which leads to the negative thoughts into the mind of an individual.
Proposal
site Plan
n
Site plan process
centralise space to provide
security
as per requirement the mass was
break into 5 blocks with centralises
courtyard and the main red colour
block is placed to create a buffer
from the outside environment while
it not acting as a visual barrier but
a physical and security barrier.
the breaking up of the mass is done
on the basis to make it easy from
the perspective of survellience.
the red part of the built mass
represent the security area.
from the security area the purple
lines are drawn considering the
visibility axes to minimise the security
personale patrolling inside the facility.
imposing theoretical background in planning
Interaction of an individual by sharing
the room with two mates to enhance
the social life and to get over from
incarcenation feeling whereas the
view from room towards the courtyard
gives the feeling of openness.
This is to create an experience
of affective learning.
esidential area
learning area
Inside the premises where inmates
are residing learning also have
been incorporated which include
library, play area etc. To create an
experience of cognitive learning.
Overall Concept Idealisation
The Relation
In order to focus on the positive experience on the inmates,
its necessary to bring the society and the correctional
facility togethermeasured on certain factors above.
