Humanitarian Essentials<br />

Logistics Module (<strong>HELM</strong>) Event<br />

Date: 20 th – 24 th February <strong>2017</strong><br />

Location: Port-au-Prince, Haiti<br />

Logistics Learning Alliance is a leading provider of humanitarian based training programmes. We currently<br />

have over 1,000 students, studying in six continents and working under some of the most dangerous and<br />

challenging conditions in many of the world’s most disaster hit and war-torn countries.<br />

Following the huge success of our Humanitarian Essentials Logistics Module (<strong>HELM</strong>) <strong>Events</strong> in 2015 and 2016,<br />

we will be returning to Port-au-Prince in February <strong>2017</strong> to run a five day event, specialising in four key<br />

aspects of humanitarian logistics – Supply Chain, Warehousing & Inventory, Procurement and Fleet<br />

Management and Transport. The <strong>HELM</strong> programme is designed as a beginner course to help those new or<br />

aiming to move into to the humanitarian sector, or who just need to freshen up their skills in delivering<br />

humanitarian aid.<br />

The course fee is $895.00 and this covers the entire duration of the course, including coaching. Payment<br />

can be made in full, or in two instalments of $450.00. Refreshments and lunch provided. Discounts are<br />

eligible for group bookings of between 7-14, and for individuals attending more than one <strong>HELM</strong> Event.<br />

Please note that costs associated with travelling and accommodation must be met by the student.<br />

The window for making payment is between Monday 16 th January and Thursday 2 nd February <strong>2017</strong>. Please<br />

do not make payment outside of this window as we may not be able to process your entry.<br />

Supply Chain – including What is Supply Chain Management, The Role of the Humanitarian Supply<br />

Chain Manager, How the Supply Chain Works and Improving the Supply Chain.<br />

Warehousing & Inventory – including The Function of the Warehouse, Layout of the Warehouse,<br />

Stock Control and Health and Safety in the Warehouse.<br />

Transport & Fleet Management – including The Role of Transport in the Supply Chain, Modes of<br />

Transport, Third Parties involved with Transport and Handling Requirements for Goods Movement.<br />

Procurement – including The Role of Procurement in the Supply Chain, Procurement Objectives,<br />

Determine the Specification Types and The Supplier Market.<br />

over 30 years working experience in Supply<br />

Chain and Logistics from working in the field<br />

building new facilities in the Middle East, to<br />

draw down and exit planning in Germany.<br />

Haydn brings to the business a wide range of skills with people<br />

development being his key driving force. He currently has<br />

over 100 active students who rely on his logistical expertise.<br />

Haydn also played a key part in the creation of the <strong>HELM</strong><br />

programme.<br />
