This catalogue “MONUMENTAL PAINTINGS for collector’s eye”
was created for the presentation of the monumental paintings of artist,
Uroš Paternu, academic painter master for the period 1996 - 2007,
In developing his own, unique and artistic visual language.
With his individual approach to the issue and exploring abstract painting he has left a strong
personal expression and inexhaustible mastery of color and form in contemporary painting.
In the catalog are selected 27 paintings, which were exhibited in five solo exhibitions during this
period. Accompanying texts are from the catalogs of exhibitions.
His paintings demand a mature viewer who will be able to surrender to sensory perception and
allow a reciprocal contact with the painting in re-creating of the view.
Uroš Paternu's first individual exhibition in 1998 displays creativity based on the author's
expressive mastering of colours. His effort is directed mostly towards capturing the precise
artistic sensitivity as the mode for embodying the spiritual movements and overlapping of the
concrete everday world. Out of the consistency of the rectangular, other strained geometric
forms and relations among colours spanned between the magic intensity and chosen
hollowness, the colourful fullness and the translucence of the veil additional to the new and
only artistic reality becomes sophisticated and eyepressed on aesthetic and spiritual level only.
