Club Achievements 2015-2016
• For the first time Serendib won Seven (7) positions at Area 6 contests out of twelve (12)
positions (4 categories x 3 winners).
• For the first time Serendib sent contestants for all four categories (TT, International, Humorous
and Evaluation) to Division B Contests.
• Two of our Gaveliers participated in District 79 contest. Including a first timer.
• Received a Golden Ribbon for achieving President Distinguished Club Status by the end of March 2016.
• Inducted quality members and achieved all three ribbons (Smedley , Beat the Clock & Talk up Toastmasters).
• TM Thangasamy achieved his Distiguished Toastmaster title this year.
• TM Sunil Bhatt achieved his Triple Crown awards for completing 3 educational titles together this year.
• TM Ifthiquar was awarded a pin by TMI for sponsoring 5 new members this year.
• Special District Award for achieving 10 DCP points and maintaining members by 30 June 2016.
• The President was recognized with the plaque by the District for being one of the best Presidents in District 79.
• Many members achieved their educational and leadership titles.
• Speech marathons were conducted to boost the morale of members.
• Successfully migrated from traditional paper based agenda with an e-agenda using the TMI website.
• Pushing towards a paperless weekly meeting to make the meetings environment friendly.
• Well organized / entertained gala event, a family day-out by VPPR team.
• Serendib Members Sponsored Vesak Dansala at the Sri Lankan embassy premises.
