INTRODUCING...
Adesola Adesokan - Independent Supporter
As an Independent Supporter at Bromley Mencap,
I feel like I am a significant part of an organisation
that every day seeks to ensure disabled people and
their parents and carers have a good quality of life.
This matters a lot to me as a mother of two children
on the autism spectrum.
More so, my life experience and a HND course
in Health and Social Care have taught me that,
although we are different, some regarded as
‘non-disabled’ others as “disabled”, in the grand
scheme of things, we are all able to achieve in
the right environment and with the right support.
This is why I am excited to be working as an Independent Supporter at Bromley Mencap
where my training as a lawyer, a mother of two children with special needs and life
experience can be used to ensure that the views of children and young people with special
educational needs and disabilities and parents are taken into consideration at every level.
I am passionate about supporting disabled children and young people to achieve their
aspirations and better life outcomes.
