Sohail Castle<br />
This Arab citadel was raised above a former Roman fort. It is located on a small isolated hill next to<br />
the mouth of the <strong>Fuengirola</strong> river. Most of what can be seen today is from the time of the Caliph of<br />
Abderramán III, who ordered the construction of the castle in 956.<br />
Phoenician <strong>and</strong> Punic remains have also been found in its surroundings, in the deposits of Suel <strong>and</strong><br />
Finca Acevedo.<br />
Now its a wellworthy visit in this beautiful town.
