Aof excellence in architecture, interior design, urban
design and infrastructure. The award winning entries
will convey exceptional qualities of character, space,
workmanship, sustainability and context. ArchiDesign Awards
recognize the professionals who have efficiency to place
through evocative use of materials and elegant detailing.
The work of architecture stands on three pillars—design,
technology, and service. As our most expensive, complex, and
durable artifacts, our buildings measure and indicate our
cultural values—some constant and some changing. Architects
seek to define our present in buildings that connect our past
with our future. Architects work closely with other members of
the construction industry including engineers, builders,
surveyors, interior designers, and town planners etc.,
constituting a whole team of skillful professionals devoted to
creating a whole world of comforts for us. The mission of
ArchiDesign Awards is to actively promote the works and
devotion of these professionals whose untiring efforts have
resulted in the shape of creative and efficient structures for the

A1. ArchiDesign Architect of the Year Award For an individual
architect, professional, firm or an organization with an
outstanding and innovative creations in the building design
and construction industry for over 15 years & having
consistently given extraordinary & exceptional design &
technological innovations. One, who is still going strong and
is contributing to enrich Indian architecture on the world map.
The selection of this Award shall be made by the Jury from
among all the Short Listed Entries by the Prelim Jury.
Commendation Awards
A2. Award for the Best Young Architect of the Year 35 years of
age, when completed the project he has sent the entry for. For
his / her excellence in design. Project of any size, shape that
depicts his innovative applications and reflects creativity.
A3. Award for the Best Private Residence for excellence in
designing an individual's residence, villa, farm house etc. on
an independent plot or a multistoried residential complex.
A4. Award for the Best Corporate / Institutional / University
Design (Colleges, Universities & Professional Educational
Institutions) for excellence in designing of universities and
institutes of higher and professionals learning in India.
A5. Award for the Best Shopping Mall & Retail Spaces Design
for excellence in designing of shopping malls and retail spaces
and allied entertainment complex etc.
A6. Award for the Best Sustainable / Green Architecture Design
for minimizing use of non-renewable energy and maximizing
use of sunlight, wind power, hydro energy and with
maintaining system durability of the building.
A7. Award for the Best Façade Design For excellence in
designing of a facade of a building / projects. Use of innovative
material and combining Energy Efficiency, strength of material
together with creativity is the point of reference and projects a
welcome note.
A8. Award for the Best Landscape Design This award is given to
a landscape project that demonstrates the highest level of
excellence and creativity. A project that is planned and
designed to create practical use of turf areas, has a selection
of plants that appropriately uses mulches, soil amendments
or improvements and efficient irrigation. When properly
designed and maintained, the Award Winning Project saves

highly creative designs that have not seen the light-of--theday
are invited to be judged by the Jury. Restriction being only
the Competition entries. Competition called by notification by
the Government, PSUs or Private sectors.
A10. Award for the Best Hospital / Healthcare Facility Designed
Project For best of hospital, medical colleges, healthcare
specialty projects including medical units, laboratories,
Imaging centres, Trauma centres and even gym, spa, sports
recouping, physiotherapy units etc.
A11. Award for the Best Designed Terminal / Tunnel / Bridge
Project (New) For an architect, designer or an infrastructure
professional who adds element(s) of Design in an otherwise
mundane infrastructure Terminal, Tunnel or Bridge project to
fast track and add a touch of beauty and his signature to the
Project.
B. INTERIOR DESIGN AWARDS
B1. Award for the Best Residential Interior Design for fineness
and beauty of residential interiors of flats, havelis, bungalows,
farm houses or plotted spaces.
B2. Award for the Best Interior of Corporate Office Design
for designing of corporate office space and turning it into an
epitome of functionality and aesthetics.
B3. Award for the Best Hotel / Resort Interior Designed (New)
for excellence and innovative designing of kitchen, so much an
independent and most important space in every home.
C. CRITICS' CHOICE AWARDS
C1. Award for the Best Written & Published work on Architecture /
Environment for exceptional contribution in the written work on
architecture / environment / heritage / conservation that can be
taken in as recording the time and movement from the country's
development point of view. RNI No. and or ISBN No. is must for
such a published book or document.
C2. Award for Strive towards Architectural / Environmental /
Heritage Conservation for an architect, individual, Trust or a
conversationalist professional striving to preserve our rich
architectural / environmental heritage of this great Nation.
D. NOMINATION AWARDS (New)
D1. Award for the Best of Faculty (Architecture) For an all-round
academic personality in architecture and planning having
excelled in teaching of architecture, planning and its allied
disciplines. One who is considered as Idol by young, budding
as well as established architects of repute. One who is still
going strong and with a minimum 15 years of teaching
experience and been a part of the coming up colleges of
architecture.
D2. Award for the Best Structural Engineering Project of the
Year to a structural engineer professional whose remarkable
contributions, consistently in built form and whose
understanding of the project, requirement & selection;
application of the innovative use of technology has added a
new dimension.

Chapter - II
Eligibility Criteria (Common to all Awards)
(i) For ARCHITECTURE AWARDS
The Awards are open to Architects, Professionals, Firms or
Organizations, practising both in Government and Private Sectors,
engaged in the profession of architecture and design or individuals
who have made outstanding contributions in the field of architecture
in India and abroad. Registration Numbers with COA is must.
(ii) For INTERIOR DESIGN AWARDS
These Awards are open to interior designers, architects and service
providers who are registered with the respective authorities and are
engaged in such projects for the last 3 years and have contributed
significantly. Registration Numbers with respective authority is
desirable.
(iii) For CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS
a. Award for the Best Written Works on Architecture or
Environment. Open to writers, journalists, architects, interior
designers, engineers, environmentalists, Energy Efficiency
practitioners, artists, sculptors, non-architects etc. including
those who contribute to architecture either by writing, making
documentary films on architecture, environment, conservation
etc. with a minimum of 3 years such experience. RNI Number or
ISBN number of submitted entries is must. Digital copies/
reproductions/photostats are not permitted.
b. Award for Strive towards Architectural / Environmental /
Heritage Conservation for an architect, individual, Trust or a
conversationalist professional striving to preserve our rich
architectural / environmental heritage of this great Nation with
around 10 years of experience in undertaking such projects.
(iii) For NOMINATIONS AWARDS
For Award for the Best of Faculty (Architecture) For an allround
academic personality in architecture and planning
having excelled in teaching of architecture, planning and its
allied disciplines. One who is considered as Idol, an inspiration
by young, budding as well as established architects of repute.
One who is still going strong and with a minimum 15 years of
teaching experience and been a part of the coming up colleges

For Award for the Best Structural Engineering Design of the
Year, the participant has to be a structural engineer professional
whose remarkable contributions, consistently in built form and
whose understanding of the project, requirement & selection;
application of the innovative use of technology has added a new
dimension and with around minimum of 10 years of experience.
For ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award (New)
ArchiDesign Lifetime Achievement Award is an honour
bestowed upon architect whose lifetime achievement and
contribution to the profession that has had a unique and lasting
impact on the fellow professionals, fraternity and welfare of the
public and environment.
Chapter - III
Award Period (Common to all Awards)

Awards shall be made annually.
Only recent works assignments / projects completed in the
preceding 6 years, of Awards (e.g. 1st January 2011 to 31st
March 2016), shall be considered for the 2016 Awards.
If, in the opinion of the Jury, none of the entries received for a
specific Award deserves the Award, the Jury in its absolute
discretion may withhold the Award for that year.
Chapter - IV
Submission of Entries (Common to all Awards)
Every year the ArchiDesign Awards Secretariat issues notifications/
letters/ advertisements in leading dailies and/or trade journals,
through online mailers, web campaigns, inviting entries from
competent persons .
Date of Submission of entries: The Jury shall consider all such entries /
proposals as have been received in the ArchiDesign Award
Secretariat, New Delhi.
ArchiDesign Awards
(iii) Entries should be accompanied by adequate evidence in support of
their fulfilling the requirement as mentioned in the application form.
(IV) The same project cannot be considered for more than 2 categories.
However, complete documentation & registration process has to be
applied separately for all the categories for which the entries are
sent.
For Architectural & Interior Design Awards
a. Form of Declaration. (As given in the application form)
b. 1. A maximum of 5 (five) reproductions of the drawings / plans of
the completed project, in A-3 sizes each.
2. A maximum of 5 (five) photographs of the completed project in
A-4 or equivalent size, or compiled in the specified size. Pl do
not send computer paper-printouts.
3. Written / typed text of up to 500-700 words explaining the
design concept, project highlights, & innovation demonstrated
in not more than two A-4 size pages.
4. The name of the architect / entrant/ participant should ONLY be
written at the back of the drawings / photographs. However, the
Tracking Number should be mentioned on the right hand top /
bottom corner of the Drawing / Photos/ or on the CDs etc.
c. Bio-data / profile of the applicant highlighting his / her professional
attainments, together with 1 (one) passport size photograph. (Pl do
not use computer paper printouts.)
d. All Individuals, Firms, Organizations may send their entries directly to
the Secretariat in the specified format under Courier / Registered
Post / Personal Delivery. Acknowledgement will be sent by the
secretariat.
e. A CD presentation detailing all about the project/ design should be
sent along with the entry, for the compilation & publishing of the
Winning projects. All graphics/ images should preferably be in High
Resolution - 300 dpi and above and saved in jpg / cymk -Tiff formats.
In the CD, more photos, plans and / or Bold graphics can be sent.
For Critics Awards:
Depending on the category of Awards, a person wishes to participate, 3
Nos. of books / writing piece, DVD / documentary film should be
submitted .
a. Form of Declaration (As given in the application form)
b. Necessary draft sketches, of the project / entry.
c. A concept note.
d. Bio-data / Profile of the designer / author.
e. Typed synopsis of the work/entry submitted should be submitted
explaining the project in approx. 600 – 800 words
f. A CD presentation detailing all about the project/design must be sent
along-with the Entry for participation.
For Nomination Awards:
The person whose name is recommended to Jury or by fraternity of
Architects, shall have to provide all details requireds so as to qualify
for consideration of his or her nomination. Pl read the Application
Form and Code of Proceedure for more information. Download

Evaluation of Entries (Common to all Awards)
(I) An entry shall be given an Award if, in the opinion of the Jury, the entry
is excellent, innovative and the person conferred has made
outstanding contribution in the field of Architecture.
(ii) The Award shall invariably be made to a person, or in case of an entry
made by a team or a Firm / Organization, to the team leader or to a
person so nominated by the team or Firm / Organization. The
name(s) as given in the Application Form (Hard Copy) will how ever
not be deleted from records.
(iii) The work should generally conform to rules, regulations and byelaws
applicable to the work .
(iv) If the Jury considers it necessary to visit the work, the Architect is
expected to accompany the Jury personally and make all
arrangements.

(v) The evaluation of all entries for each Award shall be made by the
Jury to be appointed by the Promoter for this purpose. The
Secretary General shall be the member of all the regional and the
national jury with voting rights. The Jury shall convey their final
selection for each Award to the Professional Advisor, who shall be
present at all meetings but shall not be a voting member. The
Professional Advisor shall communicate the decision of the Jury to
the Founder President, ArchiDesign Awards.
(vi) In case of a tie, the decision of the Founder President, ArchiDesign
Awards shall be final and binding on all. He holds the Veto Power as
well.
Chapter - VI
Selection (Common to all Awards)
(I) The National Jury shall consist of a maximum of 8 to 10 members
+ the Founder Chairman, ArchiDesign Awards.
(ii) The members of the Jury shall be from the fields of Architecture &
allied professions, artists, experts and whose professional
competence has been acknowledged.
(iii) Mr. Sudhir Sarup, Editor-in-Chief, ArchiDesign Perspective & the
Founder Chairman, ArchiDesign Awards shall appoint the
members of the Jury every year.
(iv) The term of any Jury member in a specific category shall in no case
exceed two consecutive years
(v) The quorum of a meeting of Jury shall be 5 (five) of its members for
Principal Awards & minimum of 3 for Commendation Awards.
(vi) The decision of the Jury shall be by majority. In the event of a tie, the
final decision shall rest with Mr. Sudhir Sarup, Editor-in-Chief,
ArchiDesign Perspective and the Founder President, ArchiDesign
Awards and shall be binding on all, as the case may be.
(vii) The decisions, deliberations, opinions and proceedings of the Jury
in connection with the Award shall be kept strictly confidential and
will not be made public or otherwise revealed at any forum/place
by any member of the Jury or those present there on behalf of
Award Secretariat or Secretary General or Professional Advisor etc.
(viii) Decision of the Jury shall be final and without appeal and shall be
binding on all.
(ix) Award-winning entries shall be exhibited at the Presentation
Ceremony, and the Editor-in-Chief, ArchiDesign Perspective for
publication purposes in brochures, journals, advertisement,
magazines etc can use the same, together with the Awardees'
photographs etc. And shall be a property of the ArchiDesign
Group.
Chapter - VII
“Come, take your share of the World”
Presentation of the Awards (Common to all Awards)
(I) Presentation of the Awards shall be made at New Delhi at a
special ceremony.
(ii) The Winners, the Awardees shall be invited to receive the Award in
person. For all Principal and Commendation Awards, presence of
the Winner whose name is given in the Form has to be present to
receive the Award. If anyone of the Awardees, for very exceptional

reason cannot be present, his or her nominee may be considered
for receiving the Award on his or her behalf with prior written
confirmation. However, for the nominee, no travel or
accommodation shall be provided by the Award Secretariat.
(iii) In such a case where the Winner of the Principal Award or
Commendation Award for whatever reasons could not come to
receive the Award, the Award Secretariat shall not pay for the travel
or hospitality charges of the Nominee of the Winner, in such a case.
(iv) In the case of a Firm or Pvt. Ltd., registers for the Award, The
Principal Architect, or the Mg. Director shall be considered for
receiv8ing the Awards.
(v) Non-acceptance of Awards: Should anyone of the Awardees
decline an Award, the Award will immediately revert back to the
Editor-in-Chief, ArchiDesign Perspective and the Founder
President, ArchiDesign Awards.
(vi) The Award shall be given to only one whose name is written iun the
Application Form, Person or Organisation. No change of name shall
be allowed once the Jury meets and Winners are declared.
Chapter - VIII
General (Common to all Awards)
It’s On!
(I) Any member of the Jury / Advisory Board, Chairman, Secretary
General, Professional Advisor, Chief Coordinator can propose an
amendment in the Code of Procedures. The same will be put to the
Core Committee/Jury for acceptance by majority. However, Mr.
Sudhir Sarup, Editor-in-Chief, ArchiDesign Perspective and the
Founder Chairman, ArchiDesign Awards shall take the final
decision on any such an amendment and it has to bear his
consent.
(ii) Mr. Sudhir Sarup, Editor-in-Chief, ArchiDesign Perspective and the
Founder Chairman, ArchiDesign Awards shall also have the right to
make amendments in the Code of Procedure in consultation with
the Core Committee/Jury and shall have voting right.
(iii) Each entry shall have separate tracking number and application
form.
(iv) SK ArchiDesign & Media Services Pvt. Ltd., promoter of the
ArchiDesign Awards, shall provide the Secretariat for the
ArchiDesign Awards.
(v) Employees / Associates of the Promoters, SK ArchiDesign & Media
Services Pvt. Ltd., Jury members, Secretary General, Professional
Advisor/ Core Committee Members and / or any other person /
body / agency associated with the ArchiDesign Awards or the
Sponsors are debarred from participating in the competition. To
add here, a minimum gap of two years must be maintained for
such person/participant/entrants.
(vi) There is no entry fee for participation. One can send as many
entries as he or she wishes to send. And also that one entry cannot
be sent for more that 2 categories. Photocopying of the
Application Form is permitted. But each Entry applied for must
have all requirements of it fully met with.
(vii) While utmost care is taken for all entries received, the Awards
Secretariat will not be responsible for any loss / damage to the
entry made during their possession. All the entries received shall
be in the custody of the Awards Secretariat, and can be used for
publication, exhibition etc. at any given time.
