Friday 2 December 2016
Dear Parents and Carers,
I do hope that you have taken time to read the recent Ofsted report, that
was sent home on Monday; we have been lifted out of ‘Special
Measures’ (4) and into ‘Requires Improvement’ (3), following the
inspection on 1st and 2 nd November. I am proud to be a Head of
School, who will work tirelessly to ensure that ‘Every Child Achieves’.
My personal goal, from today, is to achieve an even better judgement in
the future; Holt Farm Junior School will be taking huge strides ahead in
the future and children will be working in a happy, safe and positive
environment that encourages them to aim for the stars!’
The countdown to Christmas is on…….
Please see the next page for all the Christmas
events planned. We now have a huge
Christmas tree up in the hall (thanks to our PTA)
so, I am inviting all children to make and decorate a Christmas tree
decoration for our tree! All entries need to be with me by
Wednesday 14th December; there will be prizes for the top 3 entries.
On Monday 5th December, the Christmas card box will be ready to
receive your Christmas cards, to be delivered throughout the school.
Remember to clearly include the full name and class for each child, in
order for it to be delivered properly.
Our Year 5s really enjoyed their trip to King Edmund School on Tuesday,
this week; the production of Bugsy Malone was fantastic! Thank you to
all the parents and carers that joined us during our Open-House
afternoon. This was an ideal opportunity to visit your child's classroom
and see examples of their progress. If you were unable to attend please
make an appointment, via your child's class teacher.
Best Wishes, Mrs Wass
Post-Ofsted Action Plan
This week Mrs Wass began working
on a post-Ofsted school action plan.
There are many exciting
developments planned for the
Spring Term!
Miss Cohen and Miss Nutter have
attended network meeting with
several others teachers from other
local schools. This was an ideal
opportunity to share best practice.
Mrs Noone has attended an English
subject network meeting at Prince
Avenue. Ideas for promoting
reading for pleasure were shared.
SEEAT News
This week, our teachers met with
teachers from Prince Avenue and
This supports the consistency that
we are developing across the
Punctuality Tips
Leading by example is the first
thing that you can do because
children tend to imitate adults (eg.
having dinner on time or going to
bed on time)
