The Statistical Yearbook is only one of many products available from Statistics Norway. Statistics and
analyses are distributed through many channels and in many ways. Readers of the Statistical Yearbook
will find it useful to know where they can find more information on the various subjects and
interest areas.
The Weekly Bulletin of Statistics is Statistics Norways main external publication and all new statistics
are presented here first and published simultaneously on the Internet. The Weekly Bulletin of Statistics
is published (also on Internet) every Thursday and contains fresh tables and articles in Norwegian (English
summary).
Statistics Norway otherwise presents its results in various statistical and analytical publications and in
electronic form, including on the Internet. The address is: http:/Iwww.ssb.no. Tables and figures from
the Statistical Yearbook 1996 will also be published here.
The series Official Statistics of Norway (NOS), of which the Statistical Yearbook is part, comprises c.
80 publications annually, including the Monthly Bulletin of Statistics, Historical Statistics, Regional Statistics
and a number of single topic publications covering most subject areas. Publications in this series
are mainly statistical publications with information on data sources, collection and processing methods,
statistical standards, etc. Current statistics are also presented in various theme publications such
as Banking and Credit Statistics, Monthly Bulletin of External Trade, Building Statistics (quarterly) and
Building Info.
More detailed analyses are published, inter alia, in Economic Analyses and "Samfunnsspeilet, which
are issued nine and four times a year, respectively. The first issue of Economic Analyses contains Statistics
Norways Economic Survey for the previous year.
Social and Economic Studies is a series for distributing research results and is primarily aimed at other
research institutions. Statistical Analyses publishes statistics and analyses aimed at a wider circle of
readers.
Scientific publishing of a more preliminary nature is presented in Discussion Papers. In addition, the
institute issues a number of Reports on the various areas of statistics or research and analyses projects
at Statistics Norway. The Notes and Documents series are used for publications of a more internal nature
and for publications with a limited circulation.
A CD-ROM containing statistics from all the Nordic countries, Statistic Across Borders, is issued every
year.
Statistics can also be ordered on discette, on-line or in hard copy form.
