During a ;me of fes;ve celebra;ons, holiday cheer, and family tradi;ons, it is a tragedy to know some are facing
the strong possibility of losing their scared tradi;ons. A historic amount of Na;ve American Tribes have united
at Standing Rock to halt the construc;on of the Dakota Access Pipe Line. This construc;on has already
demolished sacred burial grounds of the Hunkpapa Lakota Tribe. Furthermore, if the Dakota Access Pipeline is
installed, crude oil will run beneath the Missouri River and contaminate the only water source available to the
Lokate Tribe. Furthermore, non-aggressive Na;ve Americans have been a]acked for their peaceful protes;ng. In
defending THEIR land, over 300 have been hospitalized. Journalists repor;ng from Standing Rock Camp have
been arrested and stripped of their cons;tu;onal rights.
Even with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ decision to deny the Dakota Access Pipeline a permit to tunnel under
the Missouri River, Energy Transfer Partners, the company behind the pipeline, plans to CONTINUE TO DRILL
ANYWAY!
