The Bellingen Shire Local Food Trail is an inspiring, online guideshowcasing the
local farmers, producers and suppliers in the region. Follow the guide to uncover
the unique food available in the area such as Biodynamic Agriculture Australia,

The Bellingen Brewery and Blackwood Apple Farm.
The guide is aimed at increasing the awareness and
appreciation of local food sources and recognises the
excellent work done by community groups creating
local markets, community gardens, edible streetscapes
and saving seeds. Buying local means that we are
reducing our reliance on fossil fuel transport and have
the freshest and most nutritious food available.

An iconic local brand
Chai Tea is a 20 year old, wholly
Australian owned company. Located
deep in the forest, on a community/
land sharing co-operative in the
Bellingen Shire. They operate
completely “off the grid”. What this
means is that not only is the Chai
Tea Co. run exclusively on solar
power, but so too are the homes of
all the members of the team.
