CREATING A HEALTHY,
COHESIVE AND
RESILIENT COMMUNITY
Learning Communities play a key role in
supporting the Hobsons Bay City Council’s
Community Plan.
Enabling an equitable and inclusive community
through engagement and policy: The Community
Development team’s community knowledge and
expertise supports Council in the development of
policy and building capability in upholding human
rights and social justice principles.
Delivering community services: Libraries,
Community Centre and Community Development
teams provide the assets, experience and
resources in which to provide everyone in the
community with access to physical and digital
facilities, opportunities to build capacity and
connect to others.
Engaging and partnering: Actively engage the
community to understand, communicate and
translate community needs within the Council and
build capacity through programs and connected
services driven by Learning Communities staff,
service partners and the community themselves.
The work Learning Communities does helps
support and enable Council in delivering
community health and wellbeing outcomes.
