Quarter Final place under

not a like a Final where
there must be a winner or
a World Cup which has a

certainly qualified, with
seven points in the bag.
There are now several possibilities
arising from the two
unfinished games involving
Valery V. Aleshnia (RUS).
If Aleshnia wins both his
games he qualifies, but if
he doesn’t beat Helmut F.
Glaser (GER) then Glaser
qualifies instead. If he beats
Glaser but only draws with
Hirokaz Onoda, then they
would be equal on 6½ points
but I think Aleshnia is slightly
ahead on tiebreak.
