For fellow enduro champ, Antoine Meo,
injury recovery has not gone so smoothly.
The Factory KTM rider crashed two stages
from the end of last year’s Dakar, and rode
in immense pain to the finish. Prior to that,
the Frenchman had been running in the top
five and the sheer grit of getting to the finish
line with injuries which would sideline him for
the next eight months shows that Meo isn’t
ready to back down. But ‘The Alligator’ will
miss the 2017 race nevertheless. Some are
saying he won’t come back, but KTM – and
Meo himself – will want to shut down those
rumours as soon as he is cleared to ride in
anger again.
