ZONE HAD THERE FIRST MEET-
ING ON THE 7th October
2016 and in the meeting decided
to have a presidential forum

BEING THE COMMUNIQUE OF THE
PRESIDENTIAL MEETING NAHIMS
SOUTHWEST
HELD ON 29TH OCTOBER 2016 AT
SHIM OAUTHC
The following were the decision so
reach at meeting of all the NAHIMS
chapter presidents in the southwest
and such is binding on all members
of the association spread across
southwest.
Total breakdown
1. A letter is to be written the
Board & HIMAN (in terms of employment
of qualified staffs)
2. A letter will be raised as well to
curb all irregularities of the SIWES
misappropriation of funds espe-
cially to that of HIMAN OYO STATE
CHAPTER in issuance of HIMAN
certificate
3. A letter will be raised to the
NAHIMS national executives for
prolong tenure
4. Notice of the following ongoing
programmes
a. Information magazine
b. Letters will be sent to all committee
members i.e. all south west
PROS ,SOCIAL directors ,sport
directors etc.
c. Dance completion
1. It shall be headed by the social
director
d. Seminars/symposium
1. There must be at least one seminar/symposium
this year
2. The association is also affiliated
with a society (africare/society for
family health) so as we are doing the
seminar we will be publicizing the
treatment on malaria by doing such we
are making our profession popular.
3. The symposiums will be regional i.e.
states chapter seminars/symposium.

1. Id cards will be used as the qualifications
for the competition
2. It shall be headed by the sport director
5. There will be a new constitution
formed by a drafting constitution committee
which includes one representative
from each school
6. Notification on payment of annual
dues will be done (12,000)

AL ASSOCIATION OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT STU-
DENTS (SOUTH WEST) AT THE 1 ST CONFERENCE OF NAHIMS CHAPTER
PRESIDENT HELD AT SCHOOL OF HEALTH INFORMATION, OAUTHC
ILE IFE ON SATURDAY, 29 TH OCTOBER, 2016.
A gathering of this typology, is indeed essential not only because of its
composition of intellectually sound individuals but also avails an opportunity
to have a robust critique argument, the outcome of which is
visible in the giant strides subsequently taken by such body. It is on
this note that I welcome you all, men of timber and calibre, however
not leaving out the ladies of virtues, to this meeting, the first of its
kind in this tenure of 2016/2017 Executive year.
An invention is said to be a child of necessity, so also is this meeting.
The need to converge the chapters’ presidents is of utmost importance,
in order to advance the vehicle of progress in the south
western NAHIMS which, I think, can be attainable only by coming to a
round table discussion with the gate-keepers of the union.

This incumbent crop of Executives, of south western were elected via popular mandate on the night of 3 rd June, 2016 during
the 3RD Annual Scientific Conference/Convention, held at foreign links campus, Moro, Osun state, almost immediately after
that event, our members from their various citadel of learning proceeded on the six to eight week compulsory Students’ Industrial
Working Experience Scheme (SIWES), aftermath their end of session cum Board Examinations. The absence of our
members from their academic base was cog in the wheel of progress of effective management, as people cannot be ruled-inproxy
thus making it relatively impossible to even converge a meeting of the executive members. Nevertheless, the social
media became an avenue where members aired their views (my sincere appreciation to all contributors) and through some
individuals, (both within and outside the executives) I was able to muster some level of administrative control, promising a
rejuvenation of activities at an appropriate time, which ultimately is NOW!
The idea to hold this meeting of primary stakeholders was brought to the natality table at the pioneering executive meeting
held at Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan held on the 3 rd of October, 2016, and the crux of
the action is to present to this perceived highest body of intellectuals in NAHIMS S/W the array of programmes highlighted
by the S/W executive team, as not only visible but also plausible, given the meagrely available time up till the next scientific
conference which shall usher in a new set of executives.
Therefore, the task before this august gathering is to help debate critically, with the highest level of subjectivity, the drawing
of a Programme Time-Table; the execution of which will bring to the front burner the laudable dreams of our ancestors and
predecessors via the cementing of our efforts in the activities of ‘’…nurturing ourselves to become proficient, bonafied and
admirable HIM professionals in the future.’’.
On this note of finality, I welcome you to this meeting, while, appreciatively wishing a critique deliberation. Remember the
saying, “…the voice of evil triumph where the voice of the saint is quiet…”, you must say something HERE TODAY!
