Welcome back to Rathmore. We hope you
had an enjoyable and relaxing Christmas. It
is so good to see our pupils back, refreshed
for another term.

shone during our Christmas events; P1
Nativities, Nursery Nativities, Senior Carol
Service and Carmen Lodge - we are very
proud of you all.
Abaana Appeal
Thank you so much for the kind donations
of clothes that many of you made to our
Abaana appeal.
We look forward to welcoming the New
Life Choir to Rathmore in February and
learning more about life for them in
Uganda.
If you have any further donations, we
would be only too happy to receive them
on behalf of Abaana. Our small
contributions can have such a dramatic
affect on others.
Nursery and P1 Enrolment
It is that time of year again, when our office staff
are busy receiving enrolment forms from
prospective parents for children starting our
Nursery and P1 in September 2017. The deadline
for applications is Wednesday 11 January (next
Wednesday) at 12 noon. This is a strict deadline,
with all applications returned after this time
being deemed late. Therefore, if you have forms
to return or you know of someone who does,
please remind them to do so.
Regardless of school, this date is fixed for all
September 2017 applications.

After School Activities
After School Activities and clubs will recommence
the week beginning 9 January and finish for Term 2
on Friday 17 March. Please note that there will be
no After School Clubs from the 6-17 February, due
to half term and Parent Teacher Consultations.
This will be 8 weeks of school clubs in total.
Most clubs will run as in Term 1 with the exception
of the oversubscribed ones.
Please note that there will be no SU in Term 2.
If your child is starting a club for the first time this
year, they will be reminded this week of the clubs
they have signed up for.
Please inform the teacher if your child does not
intend to return to the club for the second term.
PTA
Thank you to everyone who supported the
Christmas Fair which raised an impressive £1031.62
this year.
Lost Property
Before Christmas, we notified you of the chance to
come and see our lost property box. Unfortunately,
there is still a lot of items left over. On Friday 6
January and Monday 9 January, there will be one
last opportunity to search for any missing items
before we sort and dispose of it. The items will be
available in the foyer, before, during and after
school.
Parent Consultations
P1-P6 parent consultations will take place from 6–
9 February.
As with last February’s consultations, school will
end at 1.10pm for P1 – P6 children only.
Consultation invitations will go home next week.
P7 Transfer consultations will take place from 26
January until 2 February. The P7 children will stay
in school for their usual hours on the 6-9
February and go home with the rest of the
school on Friday 10 February at 1.10pm.
Charities
Through our Nativity and Carol Ser vice
collections and the hard work of our School
Council, we raised £948.65 for the Hurricane
Matthew Crisis Appeal. Thank you.
Post-Primary Open Days & Evenings
Over the next number of weeks the Post-Primary
schools will be hosting their open days and open
evenings for prospective students. Information
regarding these dates can be found on the
relevant school’s website.
There is a copy of some school Post-Primary
dates in the P7 corridor, P6 corridor and school
office.
Please note that the dates for Bangor Academy
have changed since going to print. The new dates
are Monday 23 January and Tuesday 24 January
(7pm - 9pm).
School Records
It is vitally important that we have the correct
contact details for all our parents, guardians and
contacts.
Please ensure that any new telephone numbers or
change of addresses (physical or email) are given to
the school office to keep our records up to date.
