Today's Scripture
"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know
his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for
everything that I learned from my Father I have made known
to you."
John 15:15
WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS
True friendship is a valuable and rare commodity! It is a true statement
that you and I make many acquaintances as we pass through this life,
but only very few true and genuine friends. I am thankful that I can tell
you about One Who wants to be your Friend forever and for real.
In the natural world the relationship we have with our servants has a
limit and a level. It is a relationship that can never be compared to the
relationship we have with our friends.
If you see how unbelievably great and glorious Christ is, then you'll
understand what it means to have an intimate relationship with him
in all that it implies. And so he calls us His friends. Now, there's a very
special meaning implied in this. He says, "I'm not going to call you
servants anymore, I'm going to call you friend.”
“I have called you my friends,” Jesus says, “because I have made known
to you everything that I have heard from my Father.” As far as Jesus is
concerned there need be no secrets in this relationship.
May we be empowered to know that our friend Jesus is a true friend
who is always the first person who comes in when the whole world goes
out on us.
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for His
friends.” ( John 15:13) Amen... Shalom
