Let's face it, a photo session can be
challenging, but it doesn't have to be. To
help I have produced this helpful
booklet which contains some useful tips
to get the most out of your session.
Please enjoy.

1. Choosing your outfits
How do you wish your dream family images
to look? If you wish for soft and elegant
images then I recommend neutrual colours
with soft, flowing fabrics .... think cream,
very soft pastel, oatmeals, light browns, tans,
grays and slate blues.
If you wish to showcase the fun side of your
family choose co-ordinating colours (although
not matchy, matchy) with bold accent colours,
such as, hues of gray with bright red accents.
You can also add fun accessories like scarves,
headbands, hats etc.
But most of all wear something that you
feel comfortable in.

2. Be well rested and well fed
Be certain not to schedule your session around
your child's nap or bedtime. Don't arrive to
your photo session on an empty stomach, If
you however intend to eat after the session
please give everyone a healthy snack before
the photo session.
3. Be sure to leave plenty of time
Mum's are often around before a photo session
getting everyone dressed and ready. If you can
why not treat yourself and get your hair/make
up done before the session you will feel so much
more relaxed. Give yourself extra time so that
your are ready before it's time to head out of the
door.

4. Dads don't worry, be happy
Dad's, I understand that you dread the family
photo sessions, but please understand how
important capturing your families special
moments are. These images will be left as a
legacy when your children are all grown up,
with families of their own. Once you see the
happy faces of our wife and children and the
amazing photographs, you will be so glad that
you gave this time to your family

5. Just relax and enjoy
Help me to capture those natural images of
your child by talking with and coaxing out
those smiles naturally and easily.
6. Have fun with your family
Dont' be afraid to tickle your children or give
your wife a sweet kiss on the check. Tell your
husband how much you love him and
appeciate him for being there for your family.
Have fun, laugh, giggle, joke, embrace, kiss,
snuggle and play. Doing these thcings will
allow me to capture the emotion and true
beauty of your family

7. Bring an activity that you enjoy
doing together as a family
Some of the most sucessful sessions have
involved an activity that the family loves to do
together. This gives you something to do with
your hands and feet, engages little ones and
brings out the authentic smiles. Love to play
board games? Why not bring one along?
8. Its ok not to smile at the camera
at the same time.
The best photographs are often the ones
where everyone is engaged or interacting
with each other. If you are engaged as a
family, your eyes will be on your family
members and your smile will be natural.
These are the images that you will cherish
most because they depict your family
connection and your love.
