<strong>Do</strong>wntown Venice’s historic district is a place of<br />
interesting boutiques and individual businesses<br />
for browsing in a relaxing atmosphere of<br />
yesteryear. There are several shady tree-lined<br />
streets in the few blocks that make up the Venice<br />
<strong>Do</strong>wntown Historic District. Park your car and<br />
enjoy strolling up and down. It’s the best way to<br />
appreciate the delightful low-rise architecture<br />
that was purposely modeled on towns in Northern<br />
Italy. The Old Florida atmosphere is enhanced by<br />
antique-style storefronts and handwritten signs,<br />
making this area unique and pleasing.<br />

Galleries and Restaurants<br />
The three main streets include Miami Avenue, with its independently<br />
owned antique stores, boutiques, and high-end consignment shops.<br />
Main Street (W. Venice Avenue) and Tampa Avenue, which border<br />
Centennial Park compliment with locally owned shops and restaurants.<br />
Altogether the area has over 130 shops, boutiques, and art galleries,<br />
including the Venice Art Center, which you will find on Nokomis<br />
Avenue South. When you’re ready to rest your feet and enjoy some<br />
cool refreshments or a tasty lunch, the area offers plenty of highly<br />
regarded restaurants and cafés. Dine al fresco<br />

splash and cool off in the jets at Centennial Park.<br />
