CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILY
Do you remember learning to use a spoon? How about learning to get dressed? Or to brush your
teeth? Life skills do not come naturally—they need to be taught by our parents or caregivers. The
same is true for worship: children need to learn how to worship. They need to know what it means to
sit with their church family and sing and pray and share the faith together.
But somemes learning can be a challenging and frustrang process. Learning to eat means food is
dropped. Learning to brush your teeth can mean a nose full of toothpaste. We make mistakes as we
learn.
So why is it that we expect our children—those wiggly lile people—to sit quietly and do everything
correctly in worship? Worship is a learning experience for ALL of us, and somemes it’s hard. Families
and children are always welcome at worship, and we are striving this year to make it even easier
for lile ones to feel involved. Worship is a vital life skill. Don’t let the learning curve keep you and
your children from experiencing the fullness of a life of faith.
