Powerohm Resistors is pleased to offer the fourth printing of the Powerohm Braking Resistor catalog for
Rockwell, Allen Bradley Drives. In addition to the comprehensive Dynamic Braking Resistor selection list,
which now includes the New PowerFlex 750 Series of Drives, we have added sections for the Powerohm
Resistors new line of stand alone DB Modules/Choppers and the exciting new VBR, a diagnostic tool,
which facilitates the proper selection and takes the mystery out of sizing Dynamic Braking Resistors.

provide information on drop in replacements for Post Glover /IPC Resistors. For your convenience we have
web access information tools, such as RAISE Proposal Builder and Engineering Assistant. These
software program tools provide the user with the opportunity to quickly size and select the correct resistor.
This comprehensive guide also offers complete information on all the resistor selections including the panel
mounted type PFCR case style resistors, to rugged PF style type screened or louvered enclosed units. All
series of Drives, from the PowerFlex 4, 40, 70, 700 and the 750 series are covered, and conveniently listed
under the appropriate section by Voltage, HP, Duty Cycle and with minimum and maximum brake torque
percent selections, for e-stop, deceleration or overhauling type load applications.

Powerohm’s new DB Module/Chopper is listed on page 28. Models are available in continuous amp ratings
of 80, 115, 300, and 600. A crossover chart is available on page 28 which outlines offerings for replacing the
Rockwell Series A, (WA, WB and WC models), one to one, that were originally part of the legacy 1336 and
1305 drives. If you desire to employ the combination of a Powerohm Brake Resistor with a stand alone
Brake Module/Chopper, those easy to use selection charts of Brake Choppers and corresponding resistor
are available on pages 29 and 30.
Powerohm’s VBR takes the mystery out of sizing DB resistors. The light compact, portable unit will assist in
sizing the proper DB Resistor for any of the PowerFlex Drives series. The unit may be purchased or rented
