We are off and running into the second month of <strong>2017</strong> and looking forward to<br />
the rest of the year. They say time flies when you are having fun, well we must<br />
be having a blast! Before we could blink our eyes January was gone. We are<br />
having fun and helping our kids!!!<br />
Lady Tracy and I would like to thank Sam and Donna Isbell and the entire<br />
committee for an outstanding job on the Public Installation. And a huge thanks<br />
goes out to everyone that attended and to the Units and Clubs that showed their<br />
support for Al Menah. The Ambassadors and Hospital Drivers Meeting was<br />
well attended and it was good to see so many Shrine / Masons that are willing<br />
to roll up their sleeves and do the work that keeps Al Menah strong. We thank<br />
you Ambassadors and Road Runners for your dedication to our mission.<br />
We hope you will bring your Sweetheart to our “Be Still My Heart” Valentine<br />
Dinner and Dance on February 11 th . The doors will open at 5:30, dinner at<br />
6:00 and dancing to “Shane & The Moneymakers” will begin at 7:30. We will<br />
have Gift Basket give-a-ways and you won’t want to miss the “Not So Newlywed<br />
Game” featuring some of our very own. Tickets can be purchased at the<br />
temple office or from any of the Divan members through February 8 th .<br />
As we go forward into this year we need to concentrate our efforts not only<br />
on having fun but also on Membership and Paper Sale. Our membership has<br />
declined to 3,015 as of January 1 st and we have already lost five Nobles to the<br />
Black Camel as of January 18 th . If our numbers continue to decline, we will<br />
be faced with some hard decisions as to whether or not we will be able to stay<br />
in our existing facility. We (you) need to draw a line in the sand and say “I will<br />
not let our Membership decline any further, I will ask a Master Mason to be a<br />
Shriner”. Working together we can overcome this obstacle. We will face some<br />
challenges this year getting ready for our Annual Paper Sale as some of the locations<br />
that we have worked in the past will not let us work there this year. Now<br />
is the time to start looking for new locations. Call our Paper Sale Chairman<br />
Tom York at 615-812-0580 if you have or need suggestions.<br />
Our Annual Potentate’s Ball will be on April 8 th and the Clarion Hotel<br />
Downtown will again be our host hotel. There will be hospitality on Friday<br />
night, Saturday early afternoon and then for an After Glow following the Ball.<br />
The Ball invitations are forthcoming soon with all the details. If you would<br />
