Just as she left the room Master Vallyantt turned the corner of the hallway
heading for the Guard's room, dez shrank back close to the wall hoping
He would not see her and held her breath. Everything had been planned
and she couldn’t get caught and stopped now!
She waited till His footsteps receded into the darkness and made for the
rose garden where earlier that day she had stashed a dirty cloak, an old
pouch to hold a bota of water and a small loaf of bread, which she hoped
would be more than enough for the journey, in amongst the bushes.
The night was cool so she grabbed the cloak tying it tightly about her ,
draped the strap of the pouch over her shoulder and slipped off into the
darkness her destination -The River Gate.
she smiled to the Watch Commander, who smiled back and scolded dez at
the same time.
Tertius~Ven~WCRG : shouldn't you be in your kennel? HEY, don't be
wandering off too far, slut!! I don't need your Master after My hide for
letting you wander off and get lost.
ďeźrä»HòTfg·яş·Vfg : dez promises not to wander off and get lost Master,
she won't be long. she is going to meet her Master and come right back.
You will see, Master, dez won't be gone long at all.
The Watch Commander huffed a bit then opened a small door only moving
aside enough the allow dez to slip past Him through the gate out of the
City. she stood and turned to stare at the City walls hoping it would not
be long before she was looking at them again. Hearing the gate close shut
behind her she realised it seemed a lot scarier out here without her Master
especially at night and with a little shiver of apprehension turned and
wandered up the road.
The night closed in around her and to keep herself company and in the
hope of giving the impression she was not alone should anyone else be
silly enough to be out at this time of the night she started to talk to herself,
but her words soon turned to shrieks as she stumbled over a stick and
landed in the middle of the road. Standing quickly she dusted herself off
and checked herself over; she was so glad it was the dead of night so her
fall over a simple stick would not have been witnessed . With her silks
straightened and the cloak rearranged against the cool night air she
picked up the offending stick and thinking it would make for a good urt
stick and headed off to find her Master.
