MAX FACTOR AND HONDA TO
ORGANISE A NATIONAL MISS
MAXI HONDA COMPETITION.
Max Factor and Honda are due to
organise a Miss Maxi Honda Competition.
The competition is part of a big launch
by Max Factor launching their new
product "Maxi".
The Miss MaxiHonda competition will
be run Nationally through Honda
Dealers throughout the country. Any
girls interested must send their names,
addresses and three good
photographs, showing their faces,
figures, etc. as well as statistics,
hobbies and interest they might have
to, Midmacor Holdings, Attention
Verity . Ross, P.O. Box 2795,
Johannesburg.
Entry forms will be available from any
Honda Dealer.
The final winner will be crowned as the
Miss MaxiHonda for 1979 and will be
used in advertisements, promotlons for
both Max Factor and Honda making
this a full modelling contract for a year.
All photographic sessions will be paid
for, plus some super gifts from Max
Factor. Honda will also use the new
Miss MaxiHonda in all their publicity
shots. .
MAXI HONDA TO ORGANISE
FIRST FEMALE MOTOCROSS
SERIES.
Max Factor will organise the first
female motocross grand prix, which is
due to start next year,it will run at the
same time as the Syringa Series.
The complete race, organisation and
prizes are all sponsered by Maxi, an all
new product by Max Factor.
The races will run exactly the same as
any other class and the riders can ride
anything they can lay their hands on.
Maxi will donate all cosmetic prizes
plus a huge Maxi/Honda Floating
Trophy.
Any female riders wanting to enter,
please contact Digby Wesson at
Midmacor, or Mrs. Marge Witt at the
Sports Car Club.
If you are interested, please put your
name down as soon as possible as
there may be a race sooner this year,
probably in November.
MAX FACTOR TO ORGANISE ALL
GIRLS BREAKFAST RUN.
A regular breakfast run is soon to be
organised by Max factor. This is part of
a big launch by Max Factor who are
launching their new product Maxi.
The breakfast run will take the riders to
various different venues. The main
venue wil be "Lovers, Rock" on the
Rustenburg Road. This venue being
only 56 km from Johannesburg.
Various promotions, entertainment will
be layed on by Max Factor at these
breakfast runs eg. beauticians, cabaret,
band etc., plus prizes will be given out
at every run.
To make this a success we need a girl
rider to organise the riders and help
with the run.
The breakfast runs are due to start in
mid-October. Any riders interested in

BIG BANGER FROM HONDA
A road-going 500cc single is among
eight new models soon to be launched
on the American market by Honda.
The new machines are the 650cc,
750cc and the 500cc, all to be on show
in Cologne at the motor show.
The 500cc roadster thumper, built on
similar lines to the Yamaha SR 500 will
come as a surprise.
The 500 has four valves and a single
overhead camshaft. It has the same
engine as an off-road model and will
make it's debut at the Cologne show.
As expected it has the same layout as
the XL250S off-road machine which
has chain-driven balanced shafts for
smoothness plus twin exhaust pipes.
'Other new models expected in
addition to the singles and fours are
two CR motocrossers the XR250R, a
playbike version of the XL250S.
RODNEY GRAY SOUTH
AFRICA'S BEST.
Rod Gray, one of South Africa's best in
road racing today, is just itching to get
his revenge on the Yamaha group. Rod
will partner Richard Borain on the
otrher six and both riders will ride
under the Sportsman Lager Castrol
Grand Prix Banner.
