race for six days, and all the pressure<br />
that entails, showed he has developed<br />
a very cool head. On coming back<br />
to Europe I kept a close eye on the UK<br />
media and judging by the lack of<br />
column inches they didn’t seem very<br />
impressed but it is just possible that<br />
the perception of the Dakar and offroad<br />
motorcycling in general improved<br />
a little thanks to his efforts.<br />
I also enjoyed watching (and helping<br />
a little) in Lyndon Poskitt’s successful<br />
attempt to fully exploit the power of<br />
social media, while at the same time<br />
racing in the unassisted Malle Moto<br />
class, in which he finished an incredible<br />
second place. You probably have a<br />
vague idea of how hard it is to compete
