Any Dream Will Do… The smash hit BBC show Any Dream Will Do introduced a whole new generation of fans to the music, excitement and Technicolor brilliance of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s seminal musical. Watched by millions every Saturday night, the show was produced to find a leading man for the new West End production. After twelve nail-biting weeks, the public finally decided that Lee Mead would be the West End’s newest star. But for some of the other finalists this was only the beginning of the journey: Bill Kenwright recognised the extraordinary talent which was being nurtured week on week and decided they too should have the opportunity to perform live on stage in this wonderful show. To date, four of those finalists have appeared in the touring production of Joseph: Antony Hansen, Chris Barton, Keith Jack and, with his hugely popular portrayal of Joseph, Craig Chalmers. They were soon to be joined by another TV finalist – this time the BBC’s I’d Do Anything provided the opportunity for talented finalist Tara Bethan to join the company as narrator, at the same time as Antony Hansen took on the role of Pharaoh.
