Civil Marriage in Aruba<br />
In 2002, the law was changed to allow non-Aruban citizens the opportunity to marry on the island. Since that time, romantic Aruba beach weddings at<br />
sunset have become very popular on the island.<br />
To be legally married in Aruba, a civil ceremony must take place in the Oranjestad Town Hall, and all the documents must be translated into the native<br />
Dutch or English language.<br />
Documents and Marriage requirements for a civil marriage in Aruba:<br />
Copies of long form birth certificate for bride and groom with apostle seal. Full names of parents, including mother’s maiden name, should be on<br />
the birth certificate (please make sure the apostle is on the birth certificate)<br />
Copies of the passport picture page or valid state issued picture I.D. for Bride & Groom<br />
Minimum of 2 witnesses (as 18 years or older) with passport picture pages or valid state issued picture I.D.<br />
Witnesses can be provided locally for a fee, if bride and groom are traveling alone.<br />
Certificate of no impediment to be obtained from the bureau of vital statistics which is located in the department of health, as proof that by their<br />
records they are both presently unmarried and are therefore free to be married to each other. This document must have an apostle seal<br />
If either party has been divorced, a copy of the 1st and last page of the divorce decree(s) is needed. This document must have an apostle seal<br />
If either party is a widow (er) the former spouse’s death certificate is needed. this document must also have apostle seal<br />
The civil ceremony takes place from Monday through Friday between the hours of: 10:00 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.<br />
Wednesday’s from 10:00 am to 12:00 The Civil House is closed on Saturday’s and Sunday’s and Holiday’s.<br />
Proper attire is required for both Bride and Groom, no shirts, sandals or cut offs.<br />
All copies must be faxed or scanned and send by email to: weddings@manchebo.com for a review and then 2 months before the wedding date<br />
original documents must be submitted by carrier (i.e. FedEx)
Religious Ceremonies<br />
There are ministers of various denominations available to perform religious ceremonies in Aruba, as outlined below.<br />
Jewish ceremonies<br />
Both Partners must submit a verification of Judaism from there Rabbi of their hometown.<br />
The Aruban cantor accepts Jewish status certificates from valid Orthodox, Conservative, reform, liberal and Re-Constructional Authorities.<br />
A formal petition needs to be submitted to the Aruba Jewish Community.<br />
The wedding ceremony may take place either in the synagogue or any other venue of choice.<br />
The Synagogue of Aruba is an independent Conservative- Reform style congregation.<br />
Minister fee ranges from $275 - $300<br />
Protestant/ Episcopalian / Methodist<br />
Wedding Ceremony can be affiliated in the local Protestant/ Episcopalian or Methodist churches or anywhere else the couple desires.<br />
If married outside Aruba, copy of marriage certificate from their home country.<br />
Proper attire is required for all “religious blessings”<br />
Minister fee ranges from $275 - $300.<br />
All wedding package comes with the non-ordained minister included,<br />
if you do not want a package the minister fee is $275.00
